William Francis Butler, 49 of Mechanicsville, MD departed this life on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was the youngest son of 12 children born to the union of James Joseph, Jr. and Mary Ernell Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Michael, Xavier, and James Joseph, III. Born in Leonardtown, MD on February 2, 1965, Billy received his education in St. Mary’s County from Banneker Elementary School, Margaret Brent Middle School, Chopticon High School, and the Park Heights Street Academy in Baltimore, MD. During his primary education, Billy was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease, a form of juvenile cancer. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD for several months and despite his ongoing health struggle he became a survivor.
