Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group is excited to announce new investment and renovation plans for several locations including Columbus, in its venture with Irish firm, Danu Partners. Phase one of the massive renovation in Columbus is now complete with remodel of the dining room and private event spaces. The main bar, outdoor patio and lounge are set to be completed in the new year.
Smith & Wollensky Columbus is located in the center of the upscale and buzzing retail district Easton Town Center, a lifestyle collection of upscale shopping and dining destinations just outside of Columbus. The 10,000 square foot, 335-seat steakhouse has been a long-standing and popular steakhouse destination since its opening in 2002, serving the brand’s signature USDA Prime dry-aged steaks, premium seafood and award-winning wines to over 60,000 business guests, locals and travelers per year. Renovations have included a complete structural remodel and interior redesign to the main dining room and private event spaces, now unveiling as a more luxurious, comfortable and contemporary dining setting. Renovations have been led by long-time collaborators Peter Niemitz Design Group and Shawmut Design and Construction, both based in Boston. (The duo collaborated on the upgrade of the Chicago location last year.) Their renovation plans have focused on maximizing space of the venue, improving flow and enhancing the overall steakhouse experience for a more spacious and modernized atmosphere.
“The grand structure of the building embraces a timeless American steakhouse design. Our plans have capitalized on the expansive space and interior, reconfiguring the main and private dining areas to improve sightlines throughout while enhancing its décor and features” states designer Niemitz. The main dining room has been entirely remodeled and opened up to a more inviting and exposed space, featuring new banquettes, dining chairs and furnishings with vibrant textures and colors. Floors, wall coverings and lighting have been refinished and upgraded as well for a classic-yet-updated look.
The steakhouse’s four distinctive private dining and event spaces have been renovated and upgraded as well, featuring more contemporary interior design in addition to expanded capacity. Business and social events from 20 to 500 are hosted in a choice of versatile spaces with amenities such as working fireplaces, a private bar, combined rooms and views of the chefs at work in the updated “Kitchen Table Room.” These new accommodations are now prime for hosting large-scale holiday parties, corporate events and more, with additional space for partial and full venue buyouts.
