The Standard Chartered KL Marathon FIRST RUNNER has locked in during the launch of the Registration for Standard Chartered KL Marathon (here) on 25 April 2014 at Pacific Regency Kuala Lumpur ! And among the 11 categories opened for registration, the first registrant was the Minister himself who officiated the launch, which is Minister of Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Encik Khairy Jamaluddin, taking the first slot for the 10km run !

With the registration only open for less than 2 weeks time, the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014 has surpassed 50% full ! Last year's Standard Chartered KL Marathon registered more than 33,800 runners and this year it has gone bigger. They are expecting more running enthusiasts to take part in Malaysia's biggest running event with 35,000 slots opened to public. So when it's more than 50% taken up, it only means literally around 17,500 runners have registered ! And all these opened within a few days of its opening.
I guess everyone is attracted by the new routes that will be introduced and as well as the prize package offered. This year's Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014 has prize package worth USD 116,740 (approx. RM 376,524), which is the highest prize purse among all the marathons in Malaysia !
