New Place to Recharge at Chicago’s ORD Airport

This post is sponsored by National Car Rental.

Airports can be busy and uncomfortable places to wait. I know because I travel every week and spend a lot of time just waiting. No one wants to spend a lot of time at the departure gate in uncomfortable chairs with no Wi-Fi.

For travelers who do not have memberships to airline clubs, there is a new alternative spot to visit before a flight. National Car Rental is offering complimentary Emerald Club “pop up” lounges at select U.S. airports as a way to relax and recharge before a flight.

At O’Hare (ORD), the lounge is located on the concourse between the H/K gates and the G gate (near Starbucks) and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Wi-Fi is free and there are a lot of charging stations. While enjoying the lounge’s very comfortable chairs, you can check updates on their tablets or do work on your own device. In addition, visitors can get information about the National app, watch National’s new TV commercials or enroll in National’s Emerald Club loyalty program.

The temporary Emerald Club airport lounges are also located in Boston (BOS), Sacramento (SMF), St. Louis (STL) and Washington Dulles (IAD). The current pop up locations will be available until April 2017 and new locations will appear this summer.

Check it out. Besides, at the O’Hare location, there is a spa right across the hall!

National named the lounges after its Emerald Club– which expedites the rental process by offering counter bypass as well as access to National’s “Emerald Aisle,” an exclusive section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserve a mid-sized car.
