The NRB Milestone Award is presented each year to pioneers in Christian communications who have demonstrated exemplary service in the industry for five decades or more.

In 1963, Dr. Sala pioneered the five-minute commentary on Christian radio, applying God’s Word to our world in five powerful minutes a day.

“Guidelines: A Five-Minute Commentary on Living,” the longest running five-minute program on Christian radio, has been heard weekdays in 17 languages over a network of more than 1,300 stations around the world.

Dr. Sala has not only addressed a wide variety of topics such as family and marriage, science and God and the trustworthiness of Scripture in his 13,000 commentaries, but has authored 56 books, which have been translated into a variety of languages, including Spanish, Korean, Ukrainian, Chinese, Burmese, Russian, Yakutian, and more.

Dr. Sala’s latest book, “The Parent Map: Navigating the Way to Raising Godly Kids,” addresses current parenting challenges in the age of social media.

Guidelines ministry focus involves “Reaching, Teaching and Touching,” through media, literature and seminars centering on living out Biblical principles and practical mission among the sick, hurting and poor.

Harold and his wife Darlene travel worldwide to train men and women for ministry all over the world. They are popular speakers to singles, couples, parents, pastors, men and women’s study groups, missionaries and business people.

DVDs and CDs have also been produced in English and distributed worldwide, often with sub-titles or voice-overs in other languages, for use as teaching tools.
