ORANGE, CA
(ANS) – On Tuesday, December 3rd, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment hosted patients and local media at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for a dedication of a custom mobile entertainment unit to celebrate the Blu-ray™ & DVD release of “The Ultimate Life” on Dec. 10.

According to a news release, the entertainment unit’s purpose was made to serve CHOC’s patients who are isolated to their rooms due to their medical conditions, bringing movies and video games directly to them and their families to enjoy throughout the Holidays.

In addition to the mobile unit, Fox also provided branded scarves and signed copies of “The Ultimate Gift” book as personal gifts for the kids who were being treated at the hospital in the city of Orange, California.

Kara Kipp, the Major Gift Officer of CHOC’s Children’s Foundation, and the film’s executive producer, Rick Eldridge, said a few words about the dedication and its influence at the hospital.

“We try to look for coping mechanisms in the hospital and distraction techniques to get their [the patients’] mind off illness or injury – the reason why they are at CHOC,” Kipp said.

“So, to bring this mobile entertainment system to the hospital is fantastic, and I know the patients in our Neuroscience Unit especially will appreciate it, because many of them are kind of restricted to their rooms while they are being monitored. It’s an excellent start to the holiday season and the gift of giving.”

Rick Eldridge said to CHOC patients on Tuesday, “We thought that would be a great way for us to give back and to help you guys and what you are doing, to get some entertainment and things to do. It really speaks well to the story, to what ‘The Ultimate Life’ is all about – the love, the laughter.”

Cast members Drew Waters, Abigail Mavity and Austin James interacted with the children and answered questions.

“Our movie was based on remembering moments and the positive moments of life and allowing yourself to live off of those instead of the negatives,” Drew Waters said to the patients. “If there is anything we can do to help you guys have a positive moment, let us.”

The cast also participated in an interview at the Ryan Seacrest Studio located in the hospital. They spoke eloquently about the dedication and also touched briefly on their lives and careers. The interview was made available via closed-circuit throughout the hospital and a clip will be shared with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation website (http://ryanseacrestfoundation.org).

“The Ultimate Life,” is the sequel (and prequel) to the award-winning “The Ultimate Gift,” and once again tells a fascinating story:

Between the pressure of running a foundation started by his late grandfather, being sued by his greedy extended family, and seeing his beloved Alexia leave on an extended mission trip to Haiti, Jason Stevens’ world is unraveling.

But when Jason discovers the lifelong journal his grandfather began as a Depression-era lad, Red Stevens’ writings transport Jason to a front-row seat on an incredible rags-to-riches ride. With everything he loves hanging in the balance, Jason hopes he can discover ‘The Ultimate Life.’

The film reminds us some things are worth more than money!
