THE DRESS SHIRT

A very simple classic dress shirt from 1920's.

It features a typically '20s very narrow shoulder yoke and is made from period correct flannel

I used a 1920's French dress shirt pattern.  A pull over shirt with a 3 button placket and square hems.

The back has a high yoke with gathering across the mid section for movement and a square hem.

With loads of shirt to tuck in, so as to avoid "builders bum" when bending or sitting

WORK SHIRT

More American in style although same length in the body as the dress shirt but rounded hems

The pattern is narrower in the body and triple stitched with chain stitch run offs that have been balled into bar tacks on the hems

The back is fully gathered as is the shoulder sleeve head to give a beautiful period fullness in the back

The Work Shirt also features an elbow pad...for work.

Asymmetrical Pockets with Arrow bar tacks
