It looks like the LG D830 will be the company’s next flagship smartphone, with the phone specifications getting leaked quite a few times and some of the features pointing to a next generation high-end device.

One of the first pieces of news on the LG D830 was it scored well in HTML5 benchmark tests, meaning the smartphone is able to load web pages fast and without any problems on the rendering front.

Our first idea was that LG was going to incorporate webOS into the LG D830, but with the reveal of webOS on TV at CES, we doubt they are going to shrink the new design down to fit inside a smartphone.

Then we heard it would be running Android KitKat 4.4, the latest version of Android, on top of LG’s skin UI. There has been no news on changes to the skin, although we hope LG has refined and sacked some of the features.

On the internals side, the LG D830 will come running a full HD display and 13MP rear camera, capable of 4K playback and 120 frames playback. This means the camera will be able to film in slow-motion, similar to the iPhone 5S iSight camera.

The LG D830 is not hiding much when it comes to a flagship device, apart from the name and the date of release, we have all the information that we need on internals, considering the processor will be a Snapdragon 800/805 and it will come alongside 2GB of RAM, most likely.

Since LG uses the same numbers for their flagships, it is pretty obvious the LG D830 is a natural successor to the D802 (LG G2) and D820/21 (Nexus 5).

We suspect this is the LG G 2 Pro, not the LG G3 many are pointing to as the next flagship. We believe the LG G3 will be coming sometime in August this year, giving the LG G 2 Pro a six month reign as the flagship Android device.

As for when the LG D830 will be unveiled, the most likely place is Mobile World Congress in February, where the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC Two are set to be revealed.
