Working donkeys and horses from around the world - in pictures
There are an estimated 43 million working donkeys in the world supporting the lives of around 250 million people. Animal welfare charity the Brooke shares snapshots of their experiences in the field.
This foal, two months old, was found running alongside its mother at a coal mine in Dandoth, a remote mountain village in the Chakwal district of Pakistan. Many foals live alongside their mothers who go back to work soon after giving birth. This one waited outside the mine each time his mother went in to collect coal.
