Happy Wednesday friends!
I am so bah humbug that the summer is ending faster than a sleeve of Girl Scout cookies. Like one second you’re just getting the party started, the next your scavenging for crumbs in between the couch cushions. Game. Over.
I guess the stress of winter’s doom is really getting to me since I’m getting gray hairs already.Or the fact that I lift my hair color in too long and over toned it. I had a slight tantrum the second I saw this happen on Saturday, and totally rocked it like the Portland hipster I am (not).
Until I washed my hair twenty times only to come to the google search conclusion that I watched one too many episodes of Long Island Medium with a head full of chemicals. Lesson learned. No silver foxy Emily just yet.
Speaking of foxes, let’s eat!
I know that was totally irrelevant, I’m just horrible with segways.
I headed out for my first Power of She 10k training run first thing in the morning to avoid the blazing heat of the 90 degree afternoon, and since I had “Upper Fix” from the 21 Day Fix still left on my plate for the day.Sinful Nutrition Instagram
This was my first run in a good month or so, and 2.5 miles was just fine for me. My garmin didn’t register until about a mile in, but I averaged a 9:22 pace rather than the 10:00 I was aiming for. Go me!

Breakfast
After a cool shower, I immediately downed a hot cuppa coffee and a chilly Banilla smoothie.
1 cup almond milk // 1 scoop MyProtein Vanilla Whey // 1/2 banana // 1 tbsp chia seeds
Snack
After getting into work from a doctor’s appointment and blood work (ew), I was ravenous. Putting on an ass-less gown and getting blood drawn works up quite the appetite.
Cucumber slices with cumin & sea salt // 1/4 avocado
Plus some more coffee, because nothing productive ever happens before eats and caffeine.
Lunch
Soon after I dug into the leftover Satay Chicken Salad sandwich from photo shoot day. Still as peanut buttery and delicious as ever.
Then it was time for some melon. Santa Clause melon.
Okay, so the tag might say peacock which would have made a lot more sense, but the store sign said Santa Clause melon. How many times can YOU say you’ve had a piece of St. Nick’s melon?! I mean…
It may look like an ordinary melon on the outside, until you cut into it….
And it looks like
Christmas exploded inside
a plain old melon. It was deliciously honey-sweet like honeydew, but much softer. Nothing mind-blowing.
I did have a sudden urge to binge on milk and cookies after though.
Dinner
Per usuage, a salmon burger atop a bed of romaine with a dollop of Spicy Chipotle hummus.
I don’t know if I should be embarrassed or proud that I single-handily go through 6 heads of romaine and half a bag of chopped kale in about a weeks time. It’s just because I’m lazy and can literally tear some leaves, plop whatever on top and call it a meal.
Snack
After my second workout of the day, Upper Fix, I downed a protein shake, with simply a scoop of Vanilla MyProtein Whey, 1 tsp chia seeds, cinnamon, and lotsa ice.
Or maybe it was an ice cold glass of milk for my dozen chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven. Only me and the Santa Clause melon will ever know…
Thanks again Jenn!
Make it a great day!

Have you ever heard of a Santa Clause melon?
Do you hate the dentist or doctor more? Dentist. They always hurt me.
