One of the major stories for the Assetto Corsa modding community was the return of CTDP, with the release of International Formula Masters 2009. While the mod had a rocky launch with some minor issues, those were quickly ironed out in the 1.1 and 1.2 updates. Now, version 1.3 has been released, which optimizes the car even further!
CTDP has contracted the work of SandroX (who also did work on the UnitedRacingDesign mod conversions to Assetto Corsa), to make some improvements to the cars. He enhanced the damage and dirt textures for the car, and also made some strides forward in improving the driver hand animations.
Another change in the update is that CTDP has elected to encrypt their data files for the mod. In the past, I’ve complained about the lack of “security” for modders’ works, where team’s data files were left ripe for the picking. Since then, Kunos Simulazioni has allowed modders to encrypt their files into .acd files. This is a great move, and will allow for more security for modder’s work. Maybe that’s one reason DRM Modding Group is moving over to Assetto Corsa?
