Blackburn and Stafford both offer a fantastic setting for a countryside escape – either in the beautiful Ribble Valley or in the rural countryside of Stafford.
Alternatively, you can stay near Manchester, Chester, Hertfordshire, Swindon and Shropshire from £94 per person for 2 nights stays. A particularly nice hotel, the Mercure in Shropshire consists of a 16th century manor house with an ambient atmosphere.
