The thought of traveling and packing with children can make parents want to crawl into bed. Both tasks can be extremely daunting, especially if you’re packing with an infant or toddler in mind. It’s hard to know in advance whether your host or hotel will be equipped with all of the gear you need for a kiddo. But, it’s difficult (sometimes impossible) to travel with your own bulky high chair, stroller, crib or car seat.

Well, now there is a packable alternative for at least one of those necessities. Check out Summer Infant’s Pop N’ Sit Portable Booster and Portable Highchair.

Both are lime green, lightweight and, according to Summer Infant, they come with BPA-free trays. (The Mayo Clinic says BPA is a chemical used to make plastics. There are concerns that exposure can have effects on the brain). The trays are also detachable and dishwasher safe, and the chairs fold into easy-to-carry shoulder bags!

There’s a lot of online chatter about these super convenient booster seats and highchairs. Budget101 recommended the product on its Facebook page, and it’s highlighted as a must-have item for road trips with young children in an article on BabyCenter. It’s portable, so it’s perfect for stops at roadside restaurants that may not have highchairs available.

On top of being totally adorable and perfect for travel, the Pop N’ Sit products won’t break your travel budget. Both are available on Amazon. The booster seat sells for $28, and you can get the highchair for $46. The New York Times even includes the booster seat on its list of ways to save on a family road trip: “At 4.5 pounds and roughly the dimensions of a shoe box, it’s versatile enough to take on road trips in our Toyota hatchback and on international flights.”

The fabric can easily be removed and is machine washable (very important for those messy little eaters!). The booster straps easily to standard-size dining chairs, and there’s a storage pocket that’s perfect for stashing bibs, spoons or small toys.
