Harrods is one of the first places that comes to mind when I think about luxurious Christmas gifts. Seeing the grand department store all lit up like a Christmas tree means the festive season is coming and the inside the shelves are fully stocked with Christmas gifts, decorations, and foodie delights. The Harrods Christmas Hampers are basically Christmas in a box, everything you need for boozing, munching and caffeinating in luxury over the Christmas period with a few little extra embellishments thrown in for fun. Last week Harrods invited me down to Cafe Royal for a special preview of their festive hamper selection and the chance to see what would be available for their Christmas 2015 selection.
The hampers are stuffed full of some of the world’s finest produce for example the ‘Ultimate Hamper’ which includes Taittinger champagne, decadent Forrey & Galland chocolates, 30-year-old balsamic vinegar as well as fresh foods such as Beluga caviar, half baby Stilton and a royal fillet of salmon.
The ‘Ultimate’ will set you back £5,000 but the top level hamper, ‘The Decadence’ is the one on my Christmas wish list. This super-luxury hamper is £20,000 and contains a magnum of Louis Roederer Cristal champagne, the finest foie gras and camembert, Harrods own coffees and teas, mince pies and pud (of course) and lots of chocolate, including a chocolate bauble and Christmas crackers.  Smaller hampers contain a choice of wines, tea, coffee and confectionary many of which are Harrods own prestigious brand.
Some hampers are more specialist such as the ‘Celebration of Chocolate’, ‘The Savoury Selection’ and the ‘Pamper Hamper’ which contains Rosé Champagne, chocolate, candles and a Ladurée address book – I’ve got my eye on this one too. There are specialist hampers containing fine wines as well as smaller selections such as ‘Cheddar & Wine,’ ‘Whisky & Truffles’ or ‘Champagne & Chocolate, basically something to suit every member of the family. Even adorable hampers for children with gingerbread, sweets, biscuits and toys.
Hampers can also be created bespoke, drawing from all the departments in Harrods, a fact that is perhaps rather worrying to Mr S… but wouldn’t that be a great way to propose if we weren’t already married? A decadent champagne hamper with a Tiffany engagement ring nestled inside?
Harrods has partnered with other fine food companies such as Daylesford to offer beautiful hampers full of organic fresh foods, jams, cakes and biscuits and wines.
And I found the perfect place to stand…

Champagne flowed throughout the evening, delicious canapés were passed around and Harlequins were on hand to entertain us and tell us more about the hampers.
Finally, I want to tell you about my favourite hamper:
The Ladurée Hat Box (Jimmy Choo shoe sadly not included)….
The Hamper is a bloggers’ dream with pink Champagne, Ladurée tea, jam, hot chocolate…chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate and a macaron recipe book…The box is so pretty that it’s definitely something to keep afterwards.

Watch this space for more festive fun in collaboration with Harrods Christmas Hampers.
