For the second half of the Raiders’ Florida trip, they face off against the ‘other’ pirates in Tampa on All Hallows Eve eve. It’s Silver vs Pewter in week 8. The Raiders are looking to hid the midseason mark at 6-2 while the Buccaneers are looking to get above .500.
There is, of course, the story line of the Buccaneers facing the team they beat to get their only Super Bowl win. During the Raiders heyday when they won their three Super Bowls, the Buccaneers were the orange creamsicle laughing stock of the NFL.
Another story line is Donald Penn returning to face the team that gave up on him three years ago. He has already proven they made a mistake. Now he has a “very huge” chip on his shoulder looking for revenge. Both teams have been laughing stocks in the 14 years since that fateful Super Bowl meeting.
