Some of them look too geeky that one can’t imagine that they would turn into ravenous beauties and handsome men. Some of them even in their adulthood have features that are an extension of how they would look, when they were kids (for instance, Deepika Padukone). Aamir Khan – Aamir Khan appeared as a child actor in Yaadon ki Baarat (1973), when he was just 8 years old.
Aditya Narayan – The son of popular Bollywood singer Udit Narayan, he sang quite a few popular songs as a child in movies like Rangeela (1995) and Akele Hum Akele Tum. He also had a prominent role as a child artist in the Salman Khan starrer – Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998). He debuted as a Bollywood lead actor in the horror movie ‘Shaapit’ and has sung songs for the 2014 movie ‘Ram Leela’.
Aftab Shivdasani – He was the ‘Farex’ baby of the early 90s. In other words, this actor started modeling and was a brand ambassador of a leading food brand, when he was in his diapers ! He debuted in Bollywood when he was 9 years old, in Mr. India. Later, he debuted as an adult actor in the movie Mast (1999).
Aishwarya Rai – One of the world’s most beautiful women, Aishwarya Rai looked really cute as a child and resembled her mother, a lot. She went on to win Miss World pageant in 1994, and since then, there was no turning back.
Ajay Devgan – He seemed to be a Singham ever since he was a kid. The son of the action director Veeru Devgan, he debuted in Bollywood with the smash action hit ‘Phool aur Kaante’ (1991)
Akshay Kumar – You cannot miss out the ‘twinkle’ in Akshay Kumar’s eye, can you? Born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, he grew up to be Bollywood’s ultimate Khiladi.
Alia Bhatt -The talented Alia Bhatt debuted as a child artist in a movie called Sangharsh (1999) which starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role. She was just 6 years old at that time.
Amitabh Bachchan – Bollywood’s biggest movie star Amitabh Bachchan has grown better with age, in terms of looks as well as performance. His father Harivansh Rai was an eminent poet and writer.
Anushka Sharma – Born in Ayodhya to an army officer father and a homemaker mom, Anushka Sharma spent her growing years in Bangalore.
Ayesha Takia – The beautiful Ayesha Takia faced camera for the first time at the age of 8 with Shahid Kapoor in the now memorable ‘Complan Ad’. She went on to feature in pop videos of Phalguni Pathak before debuting in Bollywood with ‘Tarzaan’ at the age of 18.

Deepika Padukone – Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and grew up in Bangalore. She was a badminton player at the national level. Then modeling became her calling as this daughter of eminent badminton player, Prakash Padukone, went on to become a leading model. She debuted in a Kannada movie ‘Aishwarya’ (2006) and then made a splash in Bollywood with Om Shanti Om (2007).
Dia Mirza – Born as Dia Handrich to Frank Handrich (Germanybased graphic designer) and mother Deepa, she took on the surname ‘Mirza’ when her mother married Ahmed Mirza. The beautiful model-turned actress debuted in Bollywood with ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ at the age of 20.
Hansika Motwani –The cute Hansika Motwani who was a child arist in many films including Koi Mil Gaya (2003) debuted in Bollywood as a lead actress with ‘Aap Ka Suroor’ (2007. She is a prominent actress in South India.
Hrithik Roshan – A boy with low self-esteem, Hrithik Roshan to stardom with perseverance and dedication. He was a child artist in a movie called ‘Bhagwan Dada’, when he was just 12. In 2000, he stormed Bollywood with Kaho Na Pyaar Hai.
Ileana D’Cruz – The name ‘Ileana’ actually means ‘Helen of Troy’ in Greek. She was born in Mumbai but spent most of her growing years in Mumbai and Goa.
Kangana Ranaut – Kangana Ranaut was born in a conservative family in a small town Bambia, Himachal Pradesh. The family had nothing to with Bollywood. Her father was infuriated when she said that she wanted to be in the movies. When her family disapproved, she ran away and came to Mumbai. The rest, they say, is history.
Kareena Kapoor and Karishma Kapoor – The age differences between Karishma and Kareena (younger sister) is 6 years, but the two have been close right from childhood. Karishma Kapoor debuted very early into the movies with Prem Qaidi (1991), when she was just 17. Kareena Kapor debuted in the movie Refugee (2000), when she was 20 years old.
Katrina Kaif – Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to her English mother Suzanne Torquotte and Kashmiri father Mohammed Kaif. She has seven other siblings, three elder sisters, one elder brother and three younger sisters. Her father divorced her mother and moved to the US when she was a child. The family was constantly moving most of the time, and Katrina spent most of her growing years in London. She was homeschooled as child.
Kunal Khemu – Born in a Kashmiri Pandit family, Kunal Khemu was a successful child artist having acted in serials like Gul Gulshan Gulfam and movies like Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993). He debuted in Bollywood as a main lead in the movie ‘Kalyug’ (2005).
Madhuri Dixit – Madhuri Dixit was born to a middle class family in Mumbai and studied in Divine High School. She trained to be a Kathak dancer and became a professional at it.
Parineeti Chopra – Born in Haryana to a Punjabi family, her father was a supplier to the Indian army, while mother was a home-maker. She has a famous cousin in the form of Priyanka Chopra. Parineeti Chopra proved to be a formidable actress ever since she debuted in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ (2011) at the age of 23.
Parzan Dastur – His performance as a child artist in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai who kept quite most of the time, save to utter the famous words ‘Tussi Na Jao’ earned him a lot of accolades. The child who was just 6 years old at that time, is now 22 years old (2015).
Priyanka Chopra – The multi-talented, gorgeous Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, Bihar to parents who served in Indian Army as doctors. Ranveer Singh – Ranveer Singh has a maternal cousin in Sonam Kapoor. He was always a hyperactive kid, who loved to perform and entertain people. Of course, he didn’t find it easy to enter Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan – One of the world’s biggest movie stars, Shah Rukh Khan has an impressive net worth and dizzying popularity across the globe. He was born in New Delhi to a freedom fighter father and a mom, who worked as a senior government engineer. He was interested in theater and began refining his skills under the tutorship of Barry John. Following the death of his parents, he came to Mumbai to look out for work in TV serials. He had decided that he would work for a few TV shows and then go back to Delhi. He has not gone back ever since!
Shahid Kapoor – Shahid Kapoor was born to actors Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem. After his parents split when he was just 3, he lived with his mother in Delhi. Shilpa Shetty – Shilpa Shetty was born in Chembur, Mumbai to parents who were in the business of making tamper-proof water caps for the medical industry. Her successful debut in ‘Baazigar’ (1993) in spite of a brief role, had all the impact for her to be in the game for a long run.
Shraddha Kapoor – Born to actor Shakti Kapoor and mother Shivangi, Shraddha has mixed ethnicity – Punjabi from her father’s side and Marathi from her mother’s side. After school, she went to study in Boston University. Her Facebook profile and photos caught the fancy of Ambika Ahuja who cast her for ‘Teen Patti’ (2010).
Sidharth Malhotra – Sidharth Malhotra was born in Delhi to a Merchant Navy employee father and homemaker mother. Post college, he went on to modeling but got bored after four years.
