PAUL Walker‘s daughter is in shock over the news her dad has died.
The actor, 40, passed away Saturday afternoon when a car he was in crashed and exploded in Santa Clarita, Calif. The driver also died.
Walker has daughter Meadow, 15, with former girlfriend Rebecca McBrain. When Meadow was born, Rebecca moved from Hawaii to California to be closer to the actor.
“Meadow is, naturally, very upset by the tragic news,” a source said.
“But she has her family around her. It’s going to be a tough time.”
Police released a statement about the accident: “When they arrived, deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.”
“This is an ongoing investigation,” Deputy Heischuber of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station tells People magazine. “A solo car crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the city of Santa Clarita, on the outskirts of Valencia. A 911 call came in from a bystander.”
Walker was known for his role as Brian O’Conner in The Fast and the Furious film franchise.
