Just like how society acknowledge the modern-day gay rights movement, TV networks and movie producers are also quick in adapting to this liberal change.

Gay roles isn’t a thing of the past, but time has changed - and this compilation of 2016 big and small screen projects with homosexual element prove that entertainment scene indeed evolved and has started to honor our beloved friends from the LGBT community.

Ang Babaeng Humayo - an award-winning film of Lav Diaz starring the one and only Charo Santos and John Lloyd Cruz. John Lloyd played a character of an epileptic transgender named Holanda in the 4-hour indie film.



Destiny Rose - Kapuso drama series Destiny Rose starring Ken Chan, Katrina Halili, and Fabio Ide. Lead star Ken Chan played the role of Joey Flores-Vergara who claims to be a woman trapped in a man’s body.



Til I Met You - a 2016 romantic comedy series of Antoinette starring James Reid, Nadine Lustre, and newbie JC Santos. JC plays the role of ‘Ali,’ a gay best friend of Nadine’s character who is in love with James.

Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! - from the title itself, this movie somehow sums up the current situation of today’s society. ‘Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?’ is a comedy-drama film directed by Jun Robles Lana starring Anne Curtis, Dennis Trillo, Paolo Ballesteros. In the movie, Paolo will play a gay role who will fall in love with Dennis.

The Third Party - a 2016 upcoming romantic drama film starring Angel Locsin, Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo. Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, the movie also has a gay element in which Zanjoe will play a gay role who will fall in love with Zanjoe’s character.
