Gathering together avid Mortal Kombat fans from around the world, Galloping Ghost Arcade is hosting a weekend of all things MK with Kombat Kon, held in McCook, Illinois. This konvention will have the original motion capture actors from the original Mortal Kombat series meeting fans and signing autographs, alongside hosting special real life “Test Your Might” events. There will be cosplay competitions, an artist alley filled with artists selling special Mortal Kombat themed art, as well as a dedicated freeplay arcade for attendees to enjoy throughout the whole weekend.
There will, of course, be some kombat during the weekend, with Galloping Ghost hosting Shang Tsung’s Fight Night VI. This will feature tournaments across Mortal Kombat’s history, with MK, MKII, UMK3 and MKX all having a spot on Shang Tsung’s Challenge Tower. The Mortal Kombat X tournament will be on Saturday the 19th, as well as a $10 buy in UMK3 tournament. If you cannot make those, there will be tournaments for the original trilogy throughout the weekend so there will be plenty of time to uppercut someone into the Pit.
