It’s been just 24 hours since we’ve launched the eBook and we’ve already sold over 100 copies.
There’s a few questions that have been popping up, so I thought this would be a great place to answer them all.
Question 1: Is it possible to buy a hard copy?
Currently, the London Cyclist Handbook is only available as an eBook. That means you can get it on your laptop, MacBook, iPhone, iPad, Kindle, Google Nexus, tablet or pretty much any other modern digital device.
Inside the download you get PDF, MOBI and EPUB files to be sure you can be open it anywhere you like.
There’s a few good reasons I chose this route. The first is that I can issue updates for free. If I get feedback that readers would like to hear more about bike maintenance for example, I can easily expand that section and send out an update without charging anyone.
The second is that I think it’s good to have this information with you, in a format that you can quickly digest at any time. On a boring train ride? Get your phone out and start reading.
It’s clear however, that there is demand there for a printed version and I agree it would be great to have a hard copy of the Handbook (especially as the handbook cover looks so good!).
Therefore, I’m going to speak to some publishers and see what happens. However, it may be a long wait for a printed copy.
Question 2: How do I enter the competition?
We’ve got a load of Knog gear to giveaway in our competition. To enter, once you’ve got yourself a copy, simply leave a comment on the Handbook post.
Question 3: How do I transfer this to my Kindle?
It’s very easy to transfer MOBI format eBooks to your Kindle. The best way is to simply connect your Kindle to your computer via the USB cable and drag and drop the MOBI file in to the Documents folder.
You can also get the Send to Kindle software which means you can simply right click and choose “Send to my Kindle”. Please note this won’t instantly appear on your Kindle, it takes a couple of minutes.
Question 4: How do I transfer this in to my iPad/iPhone/iPod?
If you’ve got the iBooks app on your iPhone or iPad, then it’s very easy to read both the EPUB and PDF versions of this eBook. Simply follow the download link that you get once you’ve purchased the eBook on your iPad or iPhone. In Safari, tap to start the download and once it is complete you can choose to open it in iBooks. Alternatively, simply email it to yourself under the email address you use on your iPhone or iPad.
