Releasing Attachment From The Past was brought to you by Healthy Lifestyles Living

Whether you like it or not, you can never change what’s already happened – ever. What’s done is done. But the good news it is in the past, it is gone, as long as you allow it to be.

Holding onto what’s already gone is living your life in a state on fear, being led by events that were perhaps significant, but they are in the past and that’s where they should stay.  Instead of focusing on what has happened or what didn’t happen, focus on whatever is happening right now. At this very moment. You must live in the now, with one eye on your future.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do in our lives is to let go but detachment leads to freedom. What do I mean by the word detachment?

The Law of Detachment says that in order to successfully attract something, you must be detached to the outcome. If you are attached, you project negative emotions of fear, doubt, or craving which actually attracts the opposite of your desire. You are operating from a position of worry, fear and doubt.

To be attached means to be powerless because what you attach yourself to, you give your power to it. When you detach yourself from something you then give it no power over you, but you have complete power over it.

There are so many chains that we drag around with us. Chains that might be attached to the heaviest, most cumbersome loads but we struggle on, fighting against our past unable to just let go

Detachment is a matter of learning to “Let Go”

Framing is an NLP techniques that helps you to either emotionally amplify or deamplify thoughts and memories.

Exercise: Right now, recall a memory that has negative emotions attached. Nothing traumatic! Use something like last time you got angry because you missed that parking space. Got one? Good.

Step one: Bring  up a picture of the event, perhaps a few sounds, or short video to represent that memory.

Step two: Take the memory and reduce it down to a single snapshot that represents that memory.

Step three: Now start shrinking down the image. As much as you can. Shrink it down to the size of a postage stamp

Step four: Now begin to push it away, push it back, so it goes further and further away from you. It’s getting blurry as it goes out of focus

Step five: Now put a frame around it. It can be any kind of frame, from an traditional heavy frame to a modern stainless steel frame.

How does the situation feel now? Is it still as stressful? The feelings should have reduced significantly. Try this a number of times with the same scenario and you should see the results improving more and more.

I want to share this with you today:

A New Start

I have wiped the slate clean,

No more reminders from the past.

Memories of what I have been,

Have vanished at long last.

I look forward to my future new,

Where all is territory strange.

Soon I will be among the few,

That plans their life at long range.

I see my life laid out at my feet,

New friends shall rally at my call.

They will be the first I will greet,

At this my welcoming ball.

Soon all memories will depart,

Of a past left well behind.

I will get off to a new start,

With the best of mankind.
