My hair used to be my crowning glory. I had a massive head of hair when I was younger. My hairdresser compared it to a lion’s mane. It was so super thick that it was almost impossible to comb without encountering plenty of knots and snags.

Fast forward 30+ years. Years of coloring, perming, styling products, hair dryers, hair curlers, the environment and getting older has really done a number on my hair. It’s probably 1/3rd as thick as it used to be. It’s still thick, but not that much. I’m also noticing spots where my hair has really thinned out (as if I am balding!). Ugh!!!!

Now that I’m older I don’t “torture” my hair like I used to. I rarely use styling products. I never use the hair curler (except on special occasions), I can’t remember the last time I had a perm and I usually let my hair air dry rather (I use the dryer to get the dampness out). The only thing I continue to do is color my hair because I refer to look older than I actually am – or feel. If I didn’t color my hair I’d look like Paula Deen in a matter of a year or two. That just doesn’t work for a forty-something year old person.

I don’t use styling products (mousse, hair spray, hair gel…) but I do use leave-in conditioners and products to help take the frizz out. When it’s humid my hair poofs up really bad. I also tend to get a lot of split ends. That is probably because I go months before getting a trim.

I was asked if I wanted to try a product called New York Streets Hair Repair. I have never heard of the brand New York Streets before. Since I’m from New York I thought it would be cool to try it out.

I was sent a bottle of the New York Streets Hair Repair.

Leave-in hair strengthener repairs and protects without leaving hair limp. Great for fine, weak hair. Wheat and Soy Proteins add strength and elasticity. Leaves hair shiny and smooth with great body and helps to reduce static.

I am always cautious about using leave-in products on my hair. If you use too much it leaves your hair looking greasy and dirty. I always start with the least amount and work my way up until I find the right amount for my hair.

I like that this is a spray-in product. I can spray it exactly where I need it (on my ends).

The product is easy to use. Simply towel try your hair and comb it to make sure there are no knots. Then spray New York Streets Hair Repair all over or just on you ends (where ever you feel like you need it) then comb through your hair again then style as usual. I usually let my hair air dry then use a hair dryer to take the dampness out and style it a bit.

The conditioner is very light and you don’t even know it’s there. It doesn’t weigh your hair down or give it a greasy, dirty look. It also helps to make your hair easier to comb. I have to wash my hair every other day due to the thickness. I almost always have knots. This conditioner helps to eliminate the knots that I get on the second day. There might be a knot from time to time but it’s not as bad as it usually is.

I feel like this product makes my hair softer too. I like running my fingers through my hair (and my hubby does too).

It also washes out completely. I don’t notice any kind of a residue on my hair when I go to wash it.

My teenage daughter has the hair that I used to have (she has very thick, long hair). She uses this spray-in condition her and I notice that her hair looks smoother and I don’t notice her split ends as much as I used to.

I’m impressed. I like this conditioner. I would buy it if it was available local to me. I checked the online store locator and there are no stores in my area. I could order online but I don’t like to pay shipping charges for something of this size and weight.
