The wait is FINALLY over! The mega-hit animated film, Frozen, is now available on Blu-ray and DVD TODAY!

I have not seen the film until now. I have heard people raving about it, especially the theme song “Let It Go” which one the Academy Award for Best Song at this year’s award show.

Here is the song for your enjoyment.

Princesses Elsa and Anna live in a beautiful castle in the town of Arendelle. Elsa has a special magical ability to create ice and snow. Anna, who doesn’t have any magic, loves playing with her older sister. They are the best of friends.

One night while playing something bad happens and Elsa feels the need to stay away from Anna until she can get her power under control. This causes a riff between the girls. Anna misses being with her older sister and doesn’t understand why she doesn’t come out of her room.

Tragedy strikes and Elsa is forced to become Queen of Arendelle. Reluctantly she accepts the position, although she is afraid that her secret powers will become known and people will be afraid of her. Her fears turn out to be true. When the people of Arendelle and surrounding kingdoms come to her coronation they find out about her special powers and become fearful of her. Else flees before the mob can capture her. She also unwittingly turns the kingdom into a frozen winter wonderland.

Anna is upset that her sister ran away and vows to find her. Along the way she meets up with an mountain man who sells ice named Kristoff and his loveable reindeer Sven. Anna hires Kristoff to be her guide and help her to find her sister.

One their quest to find Elsa they meet up with an adorable snowman named Olaf. Olaf knows where Elsa is and offers to help Anna find her.

Anna does find her sister but the meeting doesn’t go well. In fact Elsa accidently hurts her sister. Meanwhile others are trying to find Elsa too but they have other plans for her.

Will Anna be able to convince her sister to return to Arendelle and thaw out the town from the bitter cold eternal winter they have been thrown into? Or will the others have their way with Elsa? To find out you need to pick up a copy of Frozen, now available where ever movies are sold.

I LOVED the movie! Now I know what others are raving about. The movie was beautifully animated, the characters where enjoyable and I loved the songs.

The animation alone is amazing. You truly feel like you are braving the bitter cold along with the main characters. The ice and snow looks so realistic. I almost got a chill just watching it.

All of the characters were terrific, even the “bad guys”.

Olaf stole the show. He was by far my favorite character. I wanted to reach into the TV screen and hug him. I know they make Olaf plush dolls. I need to get one!

There are plenty of bonus features on the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Download combo pack.

One bonus feature, a musical number called The Making of Frozen, stars Kristen Bell (Anna), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) , Josh Gad (Olaf) and the Frozen team singing and dancing around Walt Disney Animated Studios at the studio lot in Burbank, CA. I was JUST there last week! I even captured a few Frozen photos while I was there.

Making of Frozen – Frozen Behind the Scenes on Disney Video

It was great to share this feature with my family. They know I have been to the animation studio a few times and this was a great way to give them a glimpse inside the studio too. It really does look that way!

In addition there is a “making of” type featurette called D’Frosted: Disney’s Journey from Hans Christian Anderson to Frozen. Explore what went on to bring this film to the big screen as well as how the costume designer came up with the gorgeous dresses that Elsa, the Snow Queen, wears.

There are also a few deleted scenes and four different versions of the song “Let It Go“.

A bonus animated cartoon, Get a Horse!, is also included. This cartoon features an old version of Mickey Mouse.

I loved everything about this movie. If you have not seen Frozen yet now is the time. Pick up your copy today where ever movies are sold.
