Being a parent is not an easy job (but it’s the toughest job you’ll ever love!). With each passing year comes new challenges from potty training to learning to drive a car.

As a parent you need to pick and choose your battles. If your daughter wants to wear a neon pink top with a pair of yellow sweatpants and dress shoes – let her. Things like that (expressing her individuality and fashion sense) is not as important as making sure she eating properly, getting enough sleep and a great education.

Getting children to eat well is often a struggle for most parents. Whether your child is a toddler or a teen, it’s important for them to eat healthy and adopt a healthy lifestyle. I’m not suggesting that a child not be able to enjoy the sweet things in life like candy, ice cream and soda (kids will be kids), I’m just suggesting that they need to learn balance and moderation and have the necessary tools and information to opt for healthier choices. For example – a tablespoon of peanut butter on top of a cut up apple over cookies and raw carrots over potato chips.

How do you go about making sure your kids are eating healthy? What if you have a picky eater? What if your child has special dietary needs? Where do you go for the answers?
