When I was a young girl I loved to play with my Barbie dolls. I enjoyed styling their hair and dressing them up. I also loved to create my own fashions. My mom would give me her left over fabrics from projects she was working on and I would turn them into outfits for my Barbie dolls. I didn’t have a sewing machine so all of the clothes were made by hand. I must say that some of my fashions were pretty impressive. My daughter also enjoyed making clothes for her Barbie dolls. Unlike me she had a small sewing machine.
Do you remember paper dolls? As simple as they were I also enjoyed playing with those. I still remember having my mom help me cut them out because I was never steady when it came to cutting out the corners. I used to keep the dolls and clothing in a large manila envelope that my dad brought home from work.
My daughter had paper dolls too but they were magnetic and pre-cut. She also had a background she could use to set up her paper (magnetic) doll. As cool as they were they were not like the paper dolls I grew up with.
During Fashion Week HP created some paper dolls. The outfits chosen to dress the dolls up with were inspired by the dresses that were reciving a lot of “buzz” on Twitter, Facebook and fashion blogs.
HP even created some paper doll dresses that you, the consumer, could print, cut out and embellish, then share your creations on your social media outlets.
I think this is such a fun idea! Imagine dressing paper dolls in the same outfits that were seen walking the run ways during fashion week.

Starting today (September 18, 2013), two designers from Project Runway (Dmitry from Season 10 and Dom from the current season) will be present at the HP Fashion Week event.
Here is some more information behind this unique partnership.
HP is thrilled to be part of Lifetime Television’s hit show “Project Runway” for a sixth season.
The partnership consists of product integration that allows HP to continue fusing the worlds of fashion and technology by providing talented designers with the tools necessary to create their own designs.
The use of HP technology enables the show’s designers to express their artistic vision with the latest HP detachable 2-n-1 PCs based on Intel processors while competing in challenges to gain a spot at New York Fashion Week.
Throughout season twelve of “Project Runway,” designers have the option to swap their sketchbooks for HP detachable 2-n-1 PCs with Intel processors, allowing them to use the latest in touch technology and responsiveness to explore new ideas and processes.
HP PCs enable the designers to reach new measures of creativity by providing an endless array of colors, easy editing and the ability to create a digital portfolio
The winning designer of season twelve will receive a $50,000 prize package from HP and Intel to create his or her own vision and run a business.
The HP/Intel episode will be airing Sept. 26th and HP is preparing a sizzle reel and will have several images to share out on that day.
