If you live in the New York City area, or plan on visiting this summer, I thought you might be interested in learning about what fun events the Bronx Zoo has planned.
This summer the Bronx Zoo is offering guests the Dinosaur Safari. The safari features 20 animatronics, life like dinosaurs that move and make sounds. Some of the dinosaurs you will see on the ride include the T-Rex and Velociraptor. Even the plants seen on the safari are prehistoric giving guests an authentic feel of what life was like back in the dinosaur days.
The exhibit runs through September 8, 2013.
My family plans on going to the zoo in the next few weeks and checking out the Dinosaur Safari. Be on the look out for my review.

Saturday, July 13th Meet Buddy the Dinosaur!
Come meet & greet everybody’s favorite dinosaur, Buddy, from the popular PBS series Dinosaur Train! Buddy, the star of the show, is a curious, funny, and intelligent T-Rex. He is cautious, but always ready to jump into action. Meet & Greet at Dancing Crane at the following times: 1:00pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.
Saturday & Sunday July 20th & 21st Passport to Adventure
Don’t miss this magical musical based on the classic children’s series, Magic Tree House. Tag along as characters Jack & Annie share stories about their time travelling adventures from all around the globe, including their prehistoric trips back to the land of the dinosaurs! On July 20th, don’t miss an exclusive appearance and book signing from Magic Tree House series author Mary Pope Osborne! Celebrating its 21st year of fame, this timeless series has touched the hearts of millions worldwide.
July 21th – July 27th National Zookeeper Week
To help increase public awareness about the need to preserve our precious habitats and the animals which inhabit them and to recognize the roles that zookeepers play in animal conservation and education, Bronx Zoo, along with other zoos and aquariums around the nation will be celebrating this week with special Zookeeper chats and enrichment activities. Wednesday – Sundays in July – Adaptations! A Dinosaur Musical
With the help of a friendly tortoise, future paleontologists take a trip back in time to discover the adaptations that allowed dinosaurs to survive for millions of years. With music, audience interaction, and fabulous puppets, this is a dino-mite show your family will not want to miss. At Asia Theater 12:30pm, 1:15pm, 2:00pm, 2:45pm and 3:30pm.
The zoo is also hosting a sweepstakes. It’s called the Bronx Zoo Safari Sweepstakes.
