Provide technical leadership and expertise for projects/programs in an individual contributor role;

Innovate / develop new retail equipment and supporting the commercial and marketing activities which deliver sustainable competitive advantages for growth and/or brand value.

Responsible for implementation of retail equipment development initiatives and ensuring that these initiatives are efficiently and effectively managed across the system.

Create value for the Coca-Cola system by identifying and implementing technology-based solutions in retail equipment that drive out non-value adding costs and that add profitable incremental volume.

Proactively manage the process of new retail equipment innovation and development, introductions and improvements. Manage and guide the activities of the agreed retail equipment development process.

Be the Group subject matter expert in a designated area of retail equipment. Understand the expectations of consumers, customers and the Coca-Cola system for retail equipment innovation and development.

Review and make recommendations on innovative new business opportunities outside of the present operating structures. Maintain and develop technical skills and expertise in retail equipment design, functionality and application.

Key Result Areas:

Develop and evaluate new retail equipment concept prototypes, pilot production and manufacturing systems.

Manage a project/program through to full proof of technical concept or commercialization for a single category.

Access pipeline to recommend solutions applicable to discipline-specific area to assess opportunities for growth and reapplication.

Take a project through the CIF Process using the Innovation Process Guides.

Conduct a case study or literature review on a critical topic in own discipline and deliver findings to internal SME network.

Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to identify, validate and implement potential new retail equipment developments.

Develop design briefs and specifications for retail equipment and manage development from concept identification through to market launch, leveraging internal and external development resources.

Ensure that TCCC intellectual property rights are established and protected prior to any commercialization of new retail equipment innovations.

Maintain relationships with leading edge retail equipment design firms, Universities, trade and innovation organizations and suppliers.

Develop value-based relationships and regular review processes with appropriate parties, such as TCCC Corporate, Bottlers, R&D, CEPG, SRA and Quality Assurance etc., to maintain an expert knowledge of TCCC retail equipment specifications, quality requirements and environmental policies.

Participate in and provide consulting on retail equipment related matters to project teams and key stakeholders.

As appropriate, identify and manage self-initiated new retail equipment opportunities outside of the existing system including if required working with third parties.

Knowledge and Experience

BS/MS + 0 – 3 years’ experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering development, preferably in a development role, for a fast moving consumer goods or retail equipment company.

Education and Professional Qualification

BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and related.

Language Requirements

Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.

Travel Requirements

Travel from 5 to 25% of work time under normal conditions
