I thought it was getting to be too late in the season to share these photos because, bare legs and white-shorts-after-Labor-Day and additional nonsense, but in
honor of
preparation for this weekend’s impending hurricane, here you go: the rain jacket I’ve been living in for the last few months [we had a silly number of rainy Sundays this summer] and which I’ll continue to wear for as long as the temperatures allow!

Charles River Apparel, a family-owned local(!) business sent it to me earlier this year, but I think it’s especially timely with today being just the second day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Their Be Pink Proud program donates a portion of sales from all pink products purchased to cancer teams who row and paddle on the Charles River and elsewhere all over the country.

I’ve never been a rower myself [but y’all know Head of the Charles is one of my favorite fall events], though I think we can all hear this loud and clear::

Rowing is a unique sport in that it gives every team member equal partnership — there are no substitutions or time-outs, and the entire team must work together in perfect sync to finish. Much like the fight to beat cancer, where those with a strong core of support are more likely to have a positive outlook and a healthier body during treatment. This striving for strength, hope and camaraderie, fuels Charles River Apparel’s mission to support these rowing and paddling groups.

And now, a series of me continuing to be the most graceful and flawless high-fashion blogger of our time–

Jack I’m flying! Jack!

In all seriousness, do be safe as Joaquin approaches! And if you’re going to shop this month, think pink, and choose brands who support breast cancer awareness, patients, and research.
