I’ve been keeping a secret. Last week, I visited Charm & Chain’s NYC showroom for an exclusive sneak peek of their brand new fine jewelry collection, Mined. It was gorgeous, but I had to keep it under wraps… until now, that is!
Mined just launched on charmandchain.com and when I tell you you are going to want everything I am not exaggerating in the least. Not only are the pieces stunningly beautiful, but the prices are insane–in a good way! I’m talking diamond bar stud earrings for less than $100!
Ali Galgano, Charm & Chain’s CEO, was nice enough to give us some exclusive deets about the new line. Get the scoop–and shop our faves from the collection–below!
SHEfinds: Tell us a little about Charm & Chain-when and why did you start the site?
Ali Galgano: I launched Charm & Chain in 2008 when I realized how difficult it was to find designer fashion jewelry online. Having discovered this gap in the marketplace, I set out to create a destination for all jewelry lovers. Charm & Chain was born as a discovery platform for emerging and established designers, and over the past seven years, we’ve become known as one of the premier online destinations for jewelry.

SF: What about you? Have you always been a jewelry lover?
AG: Always! I credit my appreciation for jewelry to my mother who started her career as a fashion jewelry buyer at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. As my friends grew up and amassed wardrobes, I was always more interested in acquiring new pieces of jewelry. I would use one piece to completely transform an outfit and thought of clothing as more of the canvas.

SF: Charm & Chain is expanding to fine jewelry? How did this come about and why now?
AG: As the fashion landscape and our business have evolved, we’ve seen a growing interest in delicate fine jewelry. MINED was created in response to our customers looking for diamond jewelry at an affordable price point.

SF: What do you think makes your new fine jewelry line stand out from others?
AG: MINED is focused on bringing the current classics in fine jewelry to our customers. We’ve been able to strike a balance between quality and affordability, and we’re committed to using ethically mined materials. Because the line is produced in North America, we’re also able to quickly respond to current market trends.

SF: Do you have a favorite piece (or pieces) from the fine jewelry collection?
AG: Most of the pieces in the collection are designed to be layered and worn together. This may sound excessive, but I love the way it looks when wearing every single ring from the collection at once, on one hand. This is an instance where more is definitely more!

SF: What’s next for Charm & Chain?
AG: Charm & Chain will continue to operate as a destination for designer fashion jewelry, carrying beloved designers like Lulu Frost, DANNIJO, and Kendra Scott, but we’ll also be focusing on designing and developing our own exclusive lines of jewelry. Stay tuned for our fashion jewelry line in 2016!

SF: What’s the one piece of jewelry you never leave home without?
AG: In addition to my engagement and wedding rings, I wear three Lulu Frost CODE number rings on my fingers every day. 2, 5, and 6 are symbolic numbers to me and I love being the only one who knows what they secretly stand for!
SF: Once and for all, can a woman really wear too much jewelry?
AG: Definitely. My advice is to always make a statement with only one area of the body–it gets distracting to have to look from neck to wrists to ears. At the end of the day though, it’s about what makes you feel your best. If wearing 20 pounds of beads makes you feel most like yourself, go for it! Confidence is your best accessory.
