Okay Girls!

So, I'm debuting a series today that I'm super excited about!

It's called CLOSET CONFESSIONS, and our first guest poster is the

GORGEOUS and SUPER SWEET Erin from Blue Eyed Bride!
If you don't know Erin yet, it's time you got to know her, because you will LOVE her.
She's mama to 2 precious boys, she loves Jesus, and she and her hubby just built and moved into a beautiful new house!
If you want to get to know her a bit, click HERE to read a short and sweet post she just wrote about Motherhood that I know all of us mamas can identify with.
Or, if you are planning on going to Disney World soon, click HERE because their family just returned from Disney!
She also wrote a post about creating white space HERE.
You will want to make sure you are following her on facebook HERE.
and on ig HERE.

 Isn't she cute?
So, I know you're wondering what Closet Confessions is going to be all about!
Well, once a month I'm going to have a blogger over here to show us her closet and answer some questions not only about her closet, but also the stuff in it!

FUN, right?

I don't know about you girls, but I LOVE peeking into people's houses.

And the chance to see somebody else's closet?

SIGN! ME! UP!

Now, I'll say this, if any of you ladies were to take a peek into my closet right now, you would probably call FEMA or something.
But that is neither here nor there.

Before we get started with Erin's closet, if you are a regular reader over here you all know the most recent item I added to my closet is THIS pair of Michael Kors moccasins.  I big fat puffy heart them.
If you missed Friday's post, you need to make sure you click HERE to get the skinny on PERFECT spring shoes (I highlighted 4 different types of shoes that are PERFECT for Spring!).
Below is just one of the ways I styled my new shoes!
Again, click HERE for the full post on spring shoes!

But, enough about me and my closet......let's get to Erin!

Erin just moved into a beautiful new home, so I thought she would be the perfect girl to kick off the series.  I mean, she hasn't even been there long enough for it to get too messy!

So, without further ado....here's Erin!

******************************************************************
Hey, y'all! I'm so excited to be kicking off Sheaffer's Closet Confessions.
We spent all of 2013 building our home, and we finally moved in on December 6.

Before we moved, I had a major closet purge. We were living with my husband's grandmother and we shared a very small closet. I found that I could only see 5-10 items at a time and I wasn't wearing nearly as many of my clothes as I should. So I got rid of a lot of things that I wasn't wearing and just didn't like anymore. It felt great to move into our new house with a more "efficient" wardrobe.
My husband and I share a closet in the new house. The closet has a window that faces the front of our house, and I love all the natural light we get in there. We did professional built-ins in the closet, and one side is Todd's and one side is mine.
At first, I was worried that by sharing, we'd still be crunched for space, but it has been great!

My dresses and coats all hang in a big space on "his side" but everything else of mine is on my side. The built-ins have been great for jewelry and frequently worn shoes. We also have a tall chest of drawers in the closet for my swimsuits, socks, and underwear.
Now... for Sheaffer's questions and my confessions!
Q:  What is the one item in your closet that you feel like you have to actually stop yourself from wearing? You know, the item that you have to think, did I already wear this this week?
A:  I love this black jacket/rain jacket that I got from Just The Thing here in Columbia, South Carolina. It has a hood and a nice fitted waist, but it's still casual. But I can easily dress it up because it's black. Now I want this jacket in every color! I love all the gold hardware on it. It's so easy to throw on as an outfit that I want to wear it every day of the week.
Show us your most recent purchase!
I love my new Lilly Pulitzer Captiva Tunic. I know I'll wear it with white jeans in the spring and wear it as a cover up this summer. The colors are my favorite!
Show us one of the oldest items in your closet.
I got this Diane Von Furstenberg dress in 2005 right after I got my first job out of graduate school. I will never ever get rid of this timeless wrap dress.
Show us the most embarrassing item in your closet.
So, it's not really all that embarrassing because I don't actually wear it, but it is very ridiculous! I'm not sure why this was ever in my closet, but I can remember it being in our guest room closet growing up. And I wore it in grad school to a Halloween party. I dressed as an 80s prom queen and made this sash (that I kept) and wore a crown and fish net gloves. It was all very "Madonna." It just makes me laugh, so I can't get rid of it!
Show us your most prized possession in your closet.
This hat is from Yvonne Lefleur in New Orleans. My mom has always taken me into Yvonne Lefleur's shop and I always admired the beautiful, one-of-a-kind hats. When I moved to South Carolina, I went to my first steeple chase and needed a hat. So I called Yvonne Lefleur. This is another one of those items that I will never ever get rid of. Isn't it fun?
Other favorites are the dresses that I bought for my wedding showers, rehearsal dinner, and bridesmaids luncheon. I may never be a size 4 again, but I will always keep these dresses because they represent such a special time. (My wedding dress is preserved and in a big box in storage.)
What are your top 3-5 style staples?
The Lilly Pulitzer Elsa top is my favorite. I have it in several erent colors and patterns. It is universally flattering and so easy to dress up or dress down. I also love the J.Crew Jackie Cardigan. Such a classic! I have way too many of them. Another favorite that I buy in every color is the Splendid Always Shirting tunic. (I love tunics!) It's so comfortable and has such a great shape!
Q:  Is there a trend hanging in your closet that you participated in that you totally regret?
A:   definitely had some, but since the purge, I'm happy to say I wear everything in my closet... except for that 80s prom dress and some of my sentimental wedding shower dresses.
 Favorite pair of shoes.
My most comfortable shoes are flats. I'm 5'8" and love a great flat. I love my Tieks (that my friend Nina convinced me to get!) and my Tory Burch Revas and Carolines.
*IN HONOR OF ERIN'S LOVE FOR TEIKS, MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE GIVEAWAY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST!
Any closet organization tips you would like to share?
 1. Clean out your closet. Get rid of the things you don't like and don't wear.
2. I have my closet organized by color. It makes it easy to find things.
 3. I separate long sleeves from short sleeves
4. I have some really fun Scout by Bungalow Mighta Bin storage boxes that are perfect for accessories, flip flops, scarves, and other small things that tend to collect in closets.
 5. I save shoe boxes. I like to store my shoes in their boxes and it makes it easiest for me to keep my closet tidy.
What is the item your hubby wears that you love him in the most?
I love him in this cotton/linen blend Vineyard Vines shirt.
It is my favorite! It's casual and soft and he looks so easy and  relaxed in it.

Thanks for stopping by my closet! ********************************************************************

THANK YOU ERIN!
Several of the things in your closet remind me of things in mine.
Like you seem to love your black jacket just as much as I love my military jacket.
(If you want to see my Military Jacket 101 post, click HERE.)
And your Splendid shirts remind me of my MUST HAVE shirt (click HERE and order 1 size down),

I do want to be very clear about something.
I want your closet.  Now.
But until I can have a closet as nice as yours, maybe I will just move in to your closet.
And since I'm going to be living there (hope you don't mind), I am probably going to borrow that FABULOUS DVF wrap dress and you might see me trying to sneak your Tory Burch's out of your closet.  I don't have any, but I've wanted a pair for so long!  I think THIS cognac pair would be such a nice timeless pair to add to my closet, but THIS bright pink would be so much fun!
In fact, you probably need them Erin!
Look at this precious outfit I put together! with your favorite shirt, a pair of earrings I saw in pictures above, and a couple of more items!
