What?

A NORDSTROM SALE?

YES MA'M!!!!!

It's the NORDSTROM HALF YEARLY SALE!

AND IT'S DOUBLE POINTS!

SHUT UP!

So, you know what that means....
IT'S TIME TO SHOP OUR FACES OFF!!!!

(I originally had a post scheduled for today about my fall uniform:  stripes and a military jacket.  However, after getting lots of e-mails in the last 2 days and seeing the items that went on sale at Nordstrom, that stripes and military jacket post will be coming to your inbox sometime

 next week BECAUSE PRIORITIES PEOPLE!)

So before we start shopping our faces off, I want to address 3 things

that I've been getting a ton of e-mail about:
1)

I've been getting lots and lots of questions about the white shirt that I named a FALL STYLE STAPLE.  Everybody wants advice on what size they should get.  At first I ordered a small, but then I ended up exchanging it for the medium so I could wear it with my leggings (on the advice of a reader, thanks Kim!).  I'm so glad I did.  Not only can I wear it with leggings now, but I also like the roomy look when I wear it with skinny jeans!

Here I am wearing it with my MUST HAVE clean cuffed jeans (HERE), my Sam Edelman leopard flats (square toe just about sold out but rounded to HERE), and my new favorite Stella and Dot earrings (HERE).

It's such a simple outfit, but I LOVE it.

The shirt is total awesomeness.

I know it's not cheap, but this is going to be a staple in your wardrobe for years and years to come.  I cannot imagine ever finding a white button up shirt that I love more than this one.

And here it is again with my leggings:

HUE ultra wide waistband leggings HERE

cognac wedge boots HERE

chandelier earrings HERE

white button up tunic HERE

I ended up ordering a medium in this shirt so
it would be roomy enough and long enough for leggings. I have a short torso so
this shirt wouldn't work with leggings

for everyone, but it does for
me!
AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE it in the grey too!

THIS IS THE SCARF! THE BEST SCARF
EVER THAT WAS MY VERY FIRST SANTA ALERT.

Get one for yourself and one for every lady
on your Christmas list!

2)

The comments, facebook messages, and e-mails I've been receiving about the MUST HAVE LEGGINGS (I got them in black) have been CRACKING ME UP.

You girls are HILARIOUS!

Soooooooo many of you already had the leggings, and I've never seen so many "Hallelujah!" and "Amen" messages in my inbox before.  The basic theme here is that it's not just me who is freaking out about these leggings.  Sooooo many of you are too!

I received lots of comments on Monday and Tuesday, and I tried to add lots of them to the Monday post as they came in, but just in case you read the post before I added the reader input, I thought I would throw it out there again just in case any of you are still on the fence about ordering the leggings for yourself.

The e-mails follow:

Sheaffer -

I've been following your blog for a
few months now, and I LOVE it! I've bought several of the pieces you've
recommended and I love everything. But I wanted to tell you that I really really
LOVE the Hue extra wide waistband leggings. I got mine in the mail on Friday,
and I wore them on Saturday from 4:30am until midnight. It was a long day of
traveling, tailgating...etc. and they held up SO well! No stretching or gaping
and they were super comfy. It sounds like you and I are about the same size and
the small was perfect. A little long, but under boots it's no big deal. I'm a
stay at home mom of a 4 year old and a 9 month old and I know I will LIVE in
these things all winter. I just ordered the gray ones this morning since the
black ones were so great. Keep up the good work!!!

Chicago)

Funny thing about the "blardigan"- the
people that make it also make baby
blankets! We received the blankets as gifts when both my babies were born
and I tell you what- softest/best blanket, EVER! I'm SO glad that company
finally figured out how to make it into a wearable piece of clothing! Totally
ordering it right now...
Meg A.

Good call on making
these leggings a MUST HAVE. I have had a gray pair and a black pair for about a
year and a half and they still look brand new. This is saying a lot since I wear
them at least once a week. Best $40ish ever spent!
Cori

Hi Sheaffer! I received my pair of Hue leggings in the mail on Friday and today
was the first day that I got to wear them. I wore them to work and even had my
crotchal area covered, even though I definitely need to purchase some longer
shirts for my closet! I wanted to tell your readers that I'm a size 16 and the
XL leggings fit really well. I love the extra wide waist band. It didn't roll
underneath my tummy once, so these leggings are PERFECT! (tee hee) They are so
soft and I just love them.

So, here's my advice to you after reading through all of the reader comments.

And I say this with love....

Here is the official MUST HAVE alert:

And here is a collage of the leggings styled 3 different ways.

Seriously, these leggings are the bomb.

3)

You ladies are both confused and awe-struck with the idea of The Blardigan.

First of all, I want to say how delighted I am that all of you accepted my word and are referring to it without any hesitation as the blardigan.  That flat out makes me happy.

YOU ARE MY PEOPLE, and it has a nice little ring to it, doesn't it?

I received this e-mail about the blardigan that I thought had some good information in it:

Sheaffer,
I have 2 of the blardigans. I got one for Christmas last year from my mother in law, and when I found out it was $90 I about fell over. I just don't spend that kind of money on clothes. However, I will tell you that after wearing it all the time (both in and out of the house like you said), I bought myself another one Monday morning. They are worth every single penny and then some. It washes so well, holds up so well, and is by far my favorite piece of clothing in my closet.
So, I'm now going to keep mine from last year for wearing around the house, and my new one is going to be for wearing out and about.
And getting them as a gift is a great idea. People will love you!
Gwen

Thanks for the e-mail Gwen!

Here are some of the questions I received that I would like to answer now.
Question:  Is it really that soft?
Answer:  Oh yes ma'm it is.
Question:  Would you really wear it OUT of the house.
Answer:  Oh yes ma'm I would.
Question: Is it going to keep me warm?
Answer:  HECK YES.
Question:  Is it really going to wash well?
Answer:  I haven't washed it yet myself, but each review that addressed this subject matter said it washed beautifully.  Some people commented that they had it for years and it still looked brand new.
Question:  Is it really worth $90?
Answer:  I know that $90 is a lot of money.

However, after reading how well it washes, I plan on wearing this baby both in and out of the house.  It's going to EARN IT'S KEEP if you know what I mean, and I have no doubt I am going to get my $$ worth out of this little beauty.

It feels like THE MOST LUXURIOUS BLANKET in the
whole entire world AND it's CUTE!

Click HERE for the midnight ombre that I'm wearing.

Click HERE for all of the solid colors.

(In the above picture I'm wearing the MUST HAVE JEANS and
the MUST HAVE
SHIRT.

I recommend the black in the must have shirt so
it won't show wrinkles. And remember to order a full size down. Mine is an
x-small.)

I also received this e-mail about the blardigan:
Funny thing about the "blardigan"- the people that make it also make baby
blankets! We received the blankets as gifts when both my babies were born and I
tell you what- softest/best blanket, EVER! I'm SO glad that company finally
figured out how to make it into a wearable piece of clothing! Totally ordering
it right now...

And I received this one just this morning!
I just bought the Blardigan last night. I wasn't going to get it
because I am 4"11 (and a half). My husband thinks I don't need to say
"and a half" but he is 6'4" so he just doesn't understand. Anyway, I
thought it would be too long since you said if you were under 5"4" it
wouldn't be for me. I happened to walk past it and tried it on and it
was just fine. I was with my 16 year old daughter, and trust me, she
would have told me if it was too long. I am going on a long flight over
Christmas so I know it will be great to sleep in on the plane with the
wide band leggings, must have shirt, and my Sam Edelman flats. It
really is soft and worth every penny.
Just wanted you to know that my
fellow short girls can get one too!
