Resource Management Service, LLC. (RMS) is a global timberland investment manager with significant expertise in all phases of institutional timberland investing. Founded and managed by forestry professionals and owned by its employees, RMS is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with offices across the U.S. South, in Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, and China.
The Western Land Sale Manager is responsible for managing RMS’s retail real estate program for approximately 1 Million acres of timberland located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas and will be located within this operating footprint. We manage these properties in four different regions which maintain region offices in Sheridan AR, Jena LA, Flowood MS and Livingston TX. This position reports to our Director, Real Estate and Alternative Income who is located in our headquarters in Birmingham, AL. Our real estate program has demonstrated a strong track record of providing recurring retail land sales at premiums to timberland values.
Responsibilities: The Western Land Sales Manager is responsible for the execution of the real estate program for RMS managed assets in AR, LA, MS and TX. The role will be involved in all aspects of the land sales program including development of marketing strategy, asset review to identify sales inventory, interaction with various internal teams for sales preparation, negotiations with potential buyers and support of the closing process.
Duties:
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Participation in fund level real estate strategy development
· Participation in planning, budgeting and executing annual business plans to meet Fund expectations
· Managing tactical marketing activities for active properties
· Negotiating potential transactions with buyers from marketed inventory and unsolicited offers
· Management of Taxable REIT Subsidiary (TRS) inventory
· Working with broader operations team to coordinate ongoing timberland management activities on assets within the real estate plan
· Participation in acquisition and disposition due diligence as needed
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies:
Bachelor of Science in Forest Management or related Natural Resources program preferred, Master’s degree is a plus
Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in Forest Management and/or Real Estate
Real Estate license preferred
Working knowledge of GIS
Strong communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills
Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
