I have a fun outfit to share with you today!  My friend Amy at Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop sent me this adorable knit fabric as a blogger gift swap among some of our sewing friends!  This is the third year we’ve done it and I have so enjoyed getting to know these wonderful ladies over the past 3 years!  (For a peek at what I made this year and who I gifted, check out my instagram!)

(Also, Amy has an affiliate program and if you purchase anything from her site from the links in my post, I’ll be able to earn some moolah for my munchkins!)

Amy and I were able to meet this past summer while visiting my family in Idaho!  Her kids are so precious and it was great to spend time with her in real life!  Behind a computer screen is just not the same as real life friendships!  Having the opportunity to spend girl time with others that share your hobbies is a true blessing!

Amy’s gift was perfect timing!  Our preschool is on the letter P this week and we will be having a Pirate and Princess Pizza Party!  I thought about dressing her in this outfit on Thursday but I think we’ll be wearing the Elsa dress she got for her birthday!  Since I finished this outfit up last night it was perfect for school this morning!

Amy just recently started producing a line of knit fabrics and I also have a yard of some adorable cowboy knit!  I see some comfy pants in Christian’s future!!!  I’ll be sure to share when they are finished!  If you are interested in purchasing some of the unique prints that Amy has designed, be sure to check out her shop!

As for the pattern of this outfit, I used my Cupcake top pattern and modified it to add a gathered skirt to make a dress!  It is so easy!  I have a few changes in mind on the shoulder lines and sleeves and will release a new knit dress pattern after testing!  For the leggings, I drafted my own pair and added a bottom cuff to tie in the princess fabric!  It is a comfy and cute outfit – perfect for an every day princess!
