My New Spring into Summer Wreath!
Shoestring Elegance

Do you take time to celebrate all the seasons in your life?  Do you know what I mean? We celebrate things like Christmas, 4th of July, New Year's Day, Birthday's, 21st, 30th, 40th (over the hill and ready to roll), 50th( half-century) Thanks so much, society, for that little reminder.  Heck we even celebrate Groundhog Day! If we go to all that trouble for those holidays, surely we should, in some way, celebrate the 'actual' Seasons in our lives.

Homemade Blueberry Syrup Recipe
Happy Mothering

While we love eating fresh blueberries, I also like making blueberry jam, blueberry pie – anything blueberry! I wanted to make something new, so this weekend I decided we’d give blueberry syrup a try.

You only need 4 simple ingredients and the result is amazing!

S’more Cupcakes Recipe
Counytry Divas

I am like so many others with great memories of Summer nights roasting marshmallows over the open fire, laughing and anxiously awaiting that chocolate bar and graham crackers.  My memory is of the nights licking the melting chocolate from running down the side of my mouth, the smell of roasting a marshmallow and loving every minute of it.   My first taste of this cupcake brought back all of that fun and goodness without all of the bugs biting me.

THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE BECOMING A MOMMY
And This Marine Wife

I remember falling to my knees and breaking into sobs.

“I don’t know how to be a mommy,” I squeaked out.

I could tell my husband was trying so hard to contain his excitement because he didn’t want to upset me even more. He grabbed my face in his hands and said, “Baby, you are going to be a great mommy.”

NEW ILIA Beauty Discoveries!
Storybook Apothecary

If you’ve been following along for awhile, you might know about my love for ILIA Beauty, but if not, you can check back to my very first post on ILIA  and you’ll see I’ve been a huge fan for years! I got even more excited when I found out they were finally releasing a line of face cosmetic products so, of course, I had to try their Tinted Moisturizer alongside a few lip colors I’ve had my eye on for awhile.

DIY Outdoor Mason Jar Chandelier
DIY Inspired

What could better than a DIY project that cost absolutely nothing? My daughter and I walk to the playground all the time and every time she brings home a treasure. This time it was a large stick. It sat in our backyard for a while and the other day when I was cleaning, I picked it up and set it aside on our patio table. I stared at it and immediately thought of making this DIY outdoor Mason jar chandelier. After all, I had all the supplies already. I didn’t buy one thing. Here’s how I made it.

Copycat Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino
This Mama Loves

I don’t frequently splurge at coffee shops for a frappuccino. While I love them, they don’t do much for me except empty my wallet. I mean, they TASTE awesome and everything, but if I am going to indulge, I want to do it in a way that offers my body some benefit. Using Silk Soymilk in place of regular milk gives me some added protein in my morning- which keeps my body fueled

We Hatched Chicken Eggs!!!
The (mis)Adventures of a "Born Again" Farm Girl

Late last fall a friend of mine offered us a dozen hatching eggs. Well winter in Michigan is no time to be hatching out chicks, so she waited till spring to send them to us. We have been on the most exciting adventure trying our hand at hatching our own chicks for the first time. I don't know who has been more excited, the country kids or myself!!

Foxy Loxy
Plutonium Muffins

I thought I would tell you about Foxy Loxy, the Joeli Caparco pattern that I knitted up and sent to New Zealand for Baby Oliver, the newest arrival to the family! I have not managed to get a photo of Oliver wearing the jumper (and I’m not sure if I would have been able to post it anyway, I’m not sure where the parents stand on sharing photos but if they asked me not to share it, I wouldn’t).
