Washington, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) today announced the North Texas U.S. Service Academy Forum, a congressionally sponsored U.S. Service Academy informational event for North Texas middle and high school students interested in learning more about Academy opportunities.

The 2013 North Texas Service Academy Forum will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 8am – 12pm at Coppell High School, located at 185 W Parkway Blvd in Coppell. Registration begins at 7:30am. This event is free and open to the public. The North Texas U.S. Service Academy Forum will highlight the opportunities available, the nomination process and evaluation requirements for the nation’s five Service Academies:

U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY

U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY

U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT

The North Texas Service Academy Forum is sponsored by Senator John Cornyn, Senator Ted Cruz, Congressman Joe Barton, Congressman Jeb Hensarling, Congresswoman Kay Granger, Congressman Sam Johnson, Congressman Kenny Marchant, Congressman Michael Burgess, Congressman Roger Williams, Congressman Marc Veasey and Congressman Pete Sessions. Each U.S. Service Academy and participating North Texas congressional office will have a representative present to provide additional information and answer questions.
