I use Synergy to share my mouse and keyboard between an OS X 10.6 machine (acting as Synergy server) and a Windows 7 machine (Synergy client). Occasionally after one or both machines have been idle for some time, the Synergy connection between the two machines is lost. Sometimes I can stop the server, stop the client, restart the server then the client and the connection will come back, although often from the client I get "ERROR: server already has a connected client with name 'Computer-Name' WARNING: failed to connect to server: server already has a connected client with our name". Again, stopping and starting the service doesn't seem to clear this connection.

In the Synergy control panel, there is an option to enable client checks that is supposed to check that clients are still alive and connected, only to be used if Synergy doesn't detect when clients disconnect, but it doesn't seem to help.

Anyone know how to drop/clear these lingering connections short of rebooting? Thanks! -Matt
