With a blend of cultures and an enviably mild climate, the Channel Islands have long been a favourite destination for both the British and the French.

Although they lie as little as 8 miles off the French coastline, the islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark are British, having been connected to the British Crown for over a thousand years. Partly self-governing, they issue their own banknotes while also accepting the British pound. The food and wine are French, but habits and manners are English.

We will be staying on the island of Jersey, the most southerly and largest of the islands. It is known for its glorious woodland walks, lovely countryside, historic castles and interesting sightseeing. Its capital, St. Helier, is built around a harbour. The town itself is a maze of narrow streets, many of which are banned to traffic, and is situated on one of Jersey’s best beaches. We will stay at the Merton Hotel, an exceptional resort-style hotel with a host of leisure facilities. The hotel is set amidst spacious gardens, located near Howard Davis Park with its’ seasonal flowers, rose gardens and tea room, and it is a short walk from St. Helier’s main shopping and entertainment area. The comfortable, well-equipped rooms have satellite TV, radio, tea/coffee-maker, phone, hair dryer and iron with board. The hotel offers daily entertainment, a concierge desk, two bars, a lounge, an Aqua and fitness centre, indoor swimming pool, spa pools, sauna and steam room.

Many excursions on Jersey are included, plus excursions to Guernsey and France.

Our tour also includes 3-night in London. Our First Class hotel, the Copthorne Tara, is centrally located a few steps from the shops of Kensington High Street and a 10 minute stroll to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. All rooms have a TV with in-house movies, tea/coffee maker, telephone and a fridge. The hotel has 2 restaurants, a bar and 24-hour room service.
