Thomas L. Gallucci Joins Cain Brothers as Investment Banker
Cain Brothers & Company, a health care investment banking firm, has announced that Thomas L. Gallucci has joined Cain Brothers as a managing director on the firm’s Health Care Services Team. He will be based in the firm’s New York office and provide strategic advisory and M&A services to the firm’s clients around the country.
While he will not focus primarily on senior housing initially, he could be involved in the industry over time.
For nearly 20 years, Gallucci has been an equity research analyst at major Wall Street firms, where, among other awards and recognition, he was named to the Institutional Investor All-America team six times overall and once to the All-America team in two separate categories – Health Care Distribution/Technology and Health Care Facilities.
Gallucci began his Wall Street career at Credit Suisse First Boston and spent the majority of his time at Merrill Lynch and Lazard Capital Markets. His coverage included the health care distribution and pharmacy benefit management subsectors, the retail pharmacy business, laboratory providers, and the acute and post-acute health care providers along with other niche areas.

Berkeley Point Capital Welcomes New Hire as it Expands Senior Housing Team
Casey Moore has joined Berkeley Point Capital LLC as director of senior housing. He will operate out of the Boston, Mass., office, developing new and existing relationships and providing debt and equity capital solutions to senior housing owners and operators.
Moore’s hiring illustrates the firm’s commitment to the expansion of its senior housing business. He has 25 years of commercial lending experience with 22 specifically focused on seniors/long-term care investments.
Prior to joining Berkeley Point, Moore worked at Prudential Mortgage Capital as principal, and at Red Capital Group as senior managing director for Seniors Housing and Long Term Care. Moore also worked at Bank United as director of Healthcare Lending and SVP of Specialty Finance.
He is an executive board member of the American Seniors Housing Association and has served on the Board of Directors for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care.
Senior Housing Development Company Names New Exec
Chris Carmicle, the former leader of Brown Jordan International Inc.’s Louisville operations, has joined Louisville-based DMK Development Group LLC as a partner, president and chief operating officer, local reports indicate.
DMK Development is a development and construction firm focused on health care and senior housing.
In this new position, Carmicle will focus on managing daily operations and marketing its services for the health care and senior housing industries.
Michael Kitchen, the company’s co-founder and CEO David Kitchen’s brother, has relinquished the role of chief operating officer and will take on the role of chief development officer, a position that previously was shared by the Kitchen brothers.
daSILVA Architects Welcomes VP of Business Development, Marketing
daSILVA Architects, which aims to “re-think health care,” has announced the appointment of Merrie Sesskin as vice president of business development and marketing.
Sesskin brings to the firm 25 years of expertise providing new business and marketing in the Northeast region. She will be responsible for overseeing all phases of marketing and business development within the firm. daSILVA is looking to expand its practice further, and with Sesskin’s strategic client management skills and contacts, the firm expects to grow.
Previously, Sesskin held positions as director of marketing and new business development for HOK, RJMJ (Hillier), Adelhardt Construction and Array Architects. She has been a member of AREW, CREW, BOMA and Professional Women in Construction and has been published in “Who’s Who” in NYC.
Katherine Azbell and Siobhan Morello Join The Ambassador of Scarsdale
The new luxury assisted living community with on-site memory care program, The Ambassador of Scarsdale in New York, has named Katherine Azbell as director of community relations and Siobhan Morello as a community relations counselor.
The community, now under construction, is slated to open in early 2015.
“Both of our new associates come to us with diverse and dynamic backgrounds but share in common their ability to connect with individuals and families and act as a community resource,” David Pomerantz, general manager of the Ambassador of Scarsdale, said. “They will welcome visitors at The Ambassador’s Welcome Center and provide continuing outreach to the surrounding community.”
In addition to offering individual and family meetings to introduce the community, they will be connecting with area professionals concerned with elders’ issues.
Azbell has a 20-year career specializing in senior care and home health services. She most recently served as director of community outreach at a Brooklyn-based assisted living community and was formerly the director of volunteer services for Caring Hospice Services of Brooklyn.
Prior to joining The Ambassador, Morello was involved in the hospitality industry as the chef/owner of the Good Taste Personal Chef Services, serving northern New Jersey.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Senior Housing Group Hires New Associate
Cushman & Wakefield has welcomed Caryn Miller as associate with the real estate firm’s Senior Housing Capital Markets team located in Boston, Mass. Her primary responsibilities will include analytical and transaction support for the team’s national senior housing practice.
Past experience includes the role of analyst for JP Morgan Asset Management: Private Bank, analyzing investment portfolios and calculating performance as a member of the team that managed $65 billion in assets for financial sponsors.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Miller worked as a senior analyst with the Analytics team of Hill Holiday, analyzing digital media campaigns to optimize and improve ad effectiveness.
Kaplan Development Group Welcomes Director of Community Relations
All American Assisted Living, an affiliate of Kaplan Development Group, LLC, has announced the appointment of Carey Flynn as the new director of community relations for the All American Assisted Living community in Raynham, Mass., opening in summer 2015.
Flynn has more than 15 years of experience in business development for a wide range of financial and real estate companies.
In her new role, Flynn will be responsible for driving occupancy to meet sales and marketing objectives for the launch of the second All American Assisted Living community in Massachusetts.
She will also be driving key community initiatives, including educational events, presentations and developing relationships with local organizations, professional groups and businesses to promote the All American Assisted Living Model. As the director of community relations, Flynn will dedicate her time to meeting with prospective families in order to guide them through the process of selecting the right community for senior family members.
Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay Hires New Director
Kelly Marcimo has been hired as the new director of community relations at Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay, a senior living community under construction in Buzzards Bay, according to local reports.
Scheduled to open next spring, Keystone Place will include 31 independent living apartments and 75 assisted living/memory care apartments. The community is being developed by Keystone Senior LLC, which operates two similar senior living residences in Massachusetts.
Mississippi Community Welcomes Executive Director
Leslie Sawyer has been named executive director of Silvercreek Senior Living Community in Olive Branch, Miss. Prior to her promotion, Sawyer was in management at Germantown Plantation Senior Living Community, a sister community of Silvercreek.
