If you’ve never enjoyed an Irish Coffee, this delicious hot drink combines sweetened Irish whiskey and an Irish Cream whipped cream to standard coffee.
Now, don’t pretend you’ve enjoyed an Irish coffee because you add some Irish Cream coffee creamer to your morning coffee. Totally different. This is the kind of coffee that makes you say “oh yeaaaah” after each sip. I include a recipe at the bottom of the post to tell you how I made it, but as with all boozy drinks, the ratio of the ingredients is completely up to how you like it. For example, when I’m making this for my husband, I may as well call this drink “Irish Whiskey with a splash of coffee” whereas I’m a big whiskey wimp so my drink could be called “sweetened coffee with a teeny splash of whisky to be able to call it Irish Coffee with lots of Irish Cream whipped cream on top” or something like that.
You start off by adding a little brown sugar. I have these super cute brown sugar cubes that I decided to use simply because they make me happy. I wish all sugar only came in the form of lump. In fact, if a restaurant gives you lumps of sugar with your coffee instead of paper packets of sugar, I will guarantee that they serve good food as well.
Combine that hot strong coffee with your whisky and you’ve got one boozy start to your morning. Sure, you can put plain whipped cream on top, but after you’ve mixed in some Irish Cream, you’ll be wondering if you can ever go back to plain whipped cream again. And if you put cool whip on your drink, please close your browser and don’t come back. I can’t have cool whip fans looking at my stuff. I have to draw the line somewhere. So what are you waiting for? Ingredients
6 ounces hot coffee
2 ounces Irish Whiskey
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream, whipped
1 teaspoon Bailey's Irish Cream
Instructions
Mix coffee with whiskey and sugar. Mix Irish Cream with whipped cream and add it to the top of your coffee. Stir and enjoy.
