My kids are counting down the days until The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters on February 10! In honor of the movie, we crafted up some surprise bath bombs – LEGO Batman and Joker style. Inside each bath bomb, we placed a LEGO Batman mini figure. My son had so much fun pretending that Joker trapped Batman in a bath bomb. It was his mission to help Batman escape and capture the Joker. Total mom win that the mission included a bath!
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

INGREDIENTS (makes 4 large bath bombs)
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup Epsom salts
3/4 cup corn starch
1 teaspoon water
2 teaspoon peppermint essential oil
3 teaspoon olive oil
5-10 drops yellow food coloring (green for Joker)

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Combine the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salts and corn starch together in a large mixing bowl.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine the water, peppermint oil, olive oil and yellow (green for Joker) food coloring together.
Step 3: Combine the wet with the dry ingredients, using a whisk or spoon. Mix until the ingredients are all blue and smooth.
Step 4: Spoon the ingredients into the mold and press down firmly, packing as much in as possible. Add a LEGO mini figure to one of the halves and close the molds, to make a round bath bomb.
Step 5: After 10 minutes, remove the bath bomb from the molds and allow to completely dry and harden overnight.
Step 6: To free LEGO Batman from the bath bomb, place in water or a bath. The bath bomb will disintegrate into the water, leaving the mini figure to play with and a delicious scent.
Step 7: Make sure to build LEGO Batman a Batmobile, to escape from the Joker, before heading to see The LEGO Batman Movie.
