BT and AMC have confirmed that David Schwimmer’s latest drama series, Feed The Beast, will air on AMC from BT this October.
Launched last September and exclusive to BT customers, the channel has largely relied on Fear The Walking Dead for its appeal, but has also treated drama fans to the acclaimed Rectify, which returns soon for its final season, and Thomas Schlamme’s second world war series, Manhattan.
Much of the schedule is currently filled with back catalogue shows, including AMC’s Man Men and Breaking Bad, US medical hit Grey’s Anatomy, plus a selection of older movies.
However BT has always said its “multi-year” deal with AMC would include further big name shows and Feed The Beast is set to be the first in a run of broadcast exclusives destined for the channel.
Schwimmer co-stars with Jim Sturgess as best friends Tommy and Dion whose dream of opening a restaurant in the Bronx proves dramatic when the pair find themselves tackling the criminal underbelly in the New York food scene where mobsters, criminals and corruption are rife.
Based on the Danish series Bankerot, the ten-part drama debuted in the US in June and completed its run earlier this month.
Also heading to AMC in October is Into The Badlands, a martial arts drama set in a future where a feudal society has developed and seven rival Barons enforce their will with the aid of trained assassins known as Clippers.
The show focuses on Sunny (Daniel Wu), Head Clipper to the Badlands’ most powerful Baron, who rescues M.K. (Aramis Knight), during an ambush.
Together they embark on an odyssey that could mean the difference between chaos and enlightenment for everyone in the Badlands.
US audiences saw the series last November and the drama received its UK and German premieres on Amazon Prime Video. A second season has already been confirmed for 2017.
BT is also set to premiere The Terror, an adaption of the bestselling novel by Dan Simmons.
Produced by Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360, the series tells the story of a Royal Naval expedition which is attacked by a mysterious predator that stalks the ships and their crew in a suspenseful and desperate game of survival.
The 10-episode drama will be shown exclusively on AMC from year, with episodes broadcast within minutes of the show’s US debut.
