Job Description:Senior Role

Domain: Transportation â€" Airline passenger services
Technology specification: Java, J2EE, Oracle, Unix
Role : The Performance Engineer/Lead/Architect will own the capacity planning and performance tuning activities for Airline passenger application running on various clients. He will be working collaboratively in a cross-functional team, and will be responsible for designing, delivering, optimizing and providing solution for scalable and high-performing applications.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing
• Define the architecture and design for highly scalable and high performance applications.
• Responsible for capacity planning, profiling, performance testing, performance prototyping, availability management, and troubleshooting.
• Independently utilizes diagnostic and monitoring tools to detect, isolate, and resolve performance issues throughout the application technology stack.
• Responsible for identifying and providing performance tuning solution at all level such Hardware, Operating system, Network, Application and Database.
• Responsible for communicating stakeholders regarding performance-related recommendations and tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with project teams on application and module design that achieves the quality attributes of performance, scalability, and availability.
• Collaborate with QA team, assisting with creating and refining effective performance test objectives, test plans, and scenarios that help the organization achieve quality requirements with commerce applications.
• Assists the project manager in estimating project efforts.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to the project manager.
• Provide performance-related mentoring and training to team members.
Skills â€" Mandatory
• Good knowledge on Architectural Patterns and Design
• Expertise in building distributed and cluster based systems/N tier Apps in Java not single server deployments of N-tier Apps.
• Must have good understanding of system/infrastructure architecture like Load balancer, WAF, JVMs etc.
• Experience with APM tools (CA-Wily APM, Compuware dynaTrace), load testing tools (JMeter, SOASTA, Compuware Gomez, Load Runner), profiling tools (JProfiler)
• Performance tuning operating system parameters (Linux, Solaris)
• Performance tuning SQL statements and stored procedures (Oracle)
• Performance tuning Java application containers (WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat)
• Identify and provide solutions for Hardware bottlenecks/ issues.
• Good working experience in Shell and Perl scripting.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences â€" written and verbal in English
• Good working experience on Linux
Skills â€" Desired-Not Must
• Good understanding on CMMi level 5 process needs
• Worked on Airline Domain
• Exposure to Messaging platforms
• Good knowledge on SOA based applications
• Good knowledge on EJB and Message Oriented Middleware technology
Experience:
• Min 7 Years of experience on the IT product development in domain intensive product on the technology mentioned above
• Knowledge and experience in Technology solutions associated with Airline passenger solutions is desired not must
