Members of the British Security Industry Association’s Export Council – Stand:S1-540C – are planning to demonstrate their latest, state-of-the-art, security innovations to visitors at the forthcoming Intersec 2014 show in Dubai (January 19-21). This year the high profile exhibition is playing host to a multitude of BSIA member companies, with many concentrated on the BSIA-organised UK Security Pavilion which is 40% larger than for 2013, as they seek to expand the scope of their business operations in the region.

The BSIA is confident that it can build on the unprecedented success of last year’s edition where 80% of Export Council members witnessed growth or the same level of visitor numbers compared to 2012, and a corresponding surge in year-on-year order books. As the trade association representing the UK’s private security industry, the British Security Industry Association, through its dedicated Export Council, continues to play a pivotal role forging productive links between UK security companies and overseas buyers including, most critically, in the Middle East. Intersec 2014 is pivotal to this process, with the BSIA – which is attending for the 16th year – planning to have members on hand across the three-day show to offer valuable face-to-face advice, and guidance, on the latest products and services services that British security businesses have to offer.

Underlining the importance of the Middle East to member companies, the BSIA’s Export Council has again conducted its annual ‘State of the Nation’ survey considering global export trends. This confirmed that the region sits top of the agenda as the primary market being targeted by members for growth over the next 12 months. In addition, Intersec ranks amongst the most important overseas exhibition for members with an impressive 90% confirming, when questioned, that they attended the 2013 event.

The Export Council’s Chairman, Greg Stuttle, is enthusiastic about the prospects for Intersec 2014: “Intersec provides the ideal opportunity for companies to underline the innovative solutions they can offer to customers across the Middle East and beyond. The scope of member companies’ expertise is certainly impressive with industry leaders well represented across areas as diverse as: video management software, biometric access control systems, turnstiles, perimeter protection and switch mode power supplies, all planning to exhibit.”

Remarking on some of the benefits for overseas buyers working with BSIA members, Stuttle says: “It is important to stress that there is the reassurance of dealing with professional, quality, companies that have gone through rigorous accreditation and credential checks and, crucially, are at the forefront of compliance with relevant industry standards.”
