With the stage set for an even larger and more comprehensive Intersec 2014, organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt is reporting strong participation from country pavilions and trade associations, many of them first time participants.

Intersec, the leading international business and networking event for the safety, security and fire protection industries in the region has traditionally enjoyed the support of many international trade associations as well as regional authorities, helping its growing region-wide impact.

This year’s edition which takes place in Dubai from January 19 to 21, 2014, will enjoy support from a wide range of international trade associations. These include: ASME (the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Singapore), the Italian security association – Assosicurezza; the British Security Industry Association, the British Security Industry Federation and the Fire Industry Association from the UK; the European security association – ESSA; the ITPO (India Trade Promotion Organisation); KEIC (Korea Export Insurance Company); TAITRA (Taiwantrade); US Department of Commerce; the VDMA (German Engineering Federation); Dubai SME Pavilion organised in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development; and a Techtextil Pavilion.

“Intersec has been witness to and facilitated a large number of business deals and contracts and enabled the beginnings of many a fruitful partnership,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “With more and more international safety and security majors looking to do business in the Middle East we are seeing a resultant increase in international participation.”

Apart from the customarily strong representation from countries such as Germany, Italy, the UK, and the US, Intersec 2014 will also include pavilions from Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

Featuring more than 90 companies, the UK Pavilion is expected to be at least 30% larger than previous years, with 30 first time participants taking up over 40% of the pavilion space. Spanning across the entire four product sections – Commercial Security, Fire & Rescue, Health & Safety and Homeland Security & Policing – the UK Pavilion is expected to be a strong attraction at Intersec 2014.

“We are always delighted to be exhibiting at Intersec, an exhibition whose importance for the Middle Eastern region cannot be underestimated,” said Valeri Filianov, International Sales Director of Pyronix Ltd, one of the participants of the UK Pavilion. “We feel Intersec brings together a diverse range of the security buying chain and we find it very beneficial for not only the Middle East region but for our international trade as well. The show has a great pull from customers all over the world due to its location. The importance of the Middle East market to us is one which is becoming more prominent.”

The UK Pavilion also incorporates three important trade associations, namely the British Security Industry Association, the British Security Industry Federation and the Fire Industry Association.

The Italian Pavilion will feature 45 companies also covering all the main product sectors represented at Intersec 2014 and supported by the Italian security association Assosicurezza, who is bringing together various security providers from across Italy to showcase their products and services in the Middle East.

Lorena Pedrazzini of Assosicurezza said: “Intersec is a fair that exhibits a steady growth in the field of security. This is due to its strategic geographical position, being an ideal point to reach all the Middle East. The fair also has the ability to embrace new perspectives, allowing companies to develop a direct knowledge of the tastes and habits of an unknown market.”

Intersec 2014 will also feature a strong representation from the European security association, ESSA who has members from 33 countries. ESSA includes in its ranks manufacturers and distributors of secure storage units, fire safety storage cabinets, ATMs, high security locks, burglar resistant doors and components.

Dr. Markus Heering, Managing Director of ESSA, said: “Our members are very satisfied with the results of participating at Intersec. Due to the reputation of Intersec in the Middle East region it is our first choice to be here. We are sure that the positive development of Intersec and the security market in the Middle East will continue over the next years.”

With eleven events, Messe Frankfurt is one of the world’s leading organisers of fairs and congresses for the expanding international field of safety and security technology. Eight trade fairs and three high-grade congresses in Germany, Asia, the Middle East and South America provide optimum opportunities for gaining a foothold in these dynamic growth markets.
