The 20x Full HD WDR Speed Dome Network Camera (DCS-6915).

D-Link has unveiled the first full HD high-speed outdoor dome camera in its expansive professional IP Surveillance line-up, delivering fast and flexible business security. The 20x Full HD WDR Speed Dome Network Camera (DCS-6915) is tailored to monitor large outdoor areas such as car parks, transport stations, school grounds or campuses.

“Organisations with large open areas, such as a superstore car park or university grounds, face a bigger challenge when it comes to monitoring all activity and keeping their premises secure. D-Link has introduced its first full HD high-speed dome camera to offer higher resolution footage that captures all the details organisations need to see across a big outdoor space,” said Andrew Mulholland, Head of Business Solutions, D-Link UK&I.

“D-Link has strong expertise in IP surveillance solutions that help businesses with their security. The 20x Full HD WDR Speed Dome Network Camera (DCS-6915) joins our already extensive professional IP Surveillance range. A comprehensive range of features mean the camera works effectively 24/7 for total peace-of-mind and is ideal for manned security operations.”

Unlike many older cameras that have D1 (720 × 576) resolution, D-Link’s latest outdoor dome camera is equipped with a 3 megapixel Sony Exmor CMOS sensor to capture Full HD 1080p high resolution images with an outstanding level of detail.  The camera’s removable IR-cut filter delivers detailed images even in low-light conditions, whilst the built in Wide Dynamic Range corrects strong lighting conditions – such as the midday sun or dark cloud cover. These features, combined with an auto iris lens and integrated backlight compensation lens, make the camera ideal for outdoor applications, capturing clear images in conditions where many other cameras would struggle.

The camera brings a range of benefits for businesses that require a fast, accurate and user-friendly security solution. Designed as a manned surveillance camera to cover large outdoor spaces, it supports 256 preset positions, with the option to set up to eight patrol sequences. The ability to quickly flip between chosen preset points, or continuously rotate 360 degrees at up to 400 degrees per second, ensures that across a wide outdoor area, no movements are missed.

A broad tilt range from -10° to 190° allows the camera to see beyond the true horizon, meaning users can see more, even when zoomed in. Proportional pan and tilt make it easy to precisely adjust the camera’s view. Added to these features, the built-in 20X optical and 8X digital zoom ensure important images are captured in great detail, making the DCS-6915 an extremely effective security solution.

Housed in a robust vandal-proof IK10-certified and IP66-certified weatherproof casing, with a built-in heater and fan, this camera is built to withstand tough outdoor environments.

It supports two-way audio for security personnel to warn off trespassers or vandals, or alternatively for use as an entry system.

A privacy mask feature allows users to block out up to 16 sensitive zones for privacy purposes to protect employees and customers’ rights. Privacy masks appear on all video streams and recorded videos and the masked area automatically does not detect any motion.

The camera comes with free D-ViewCam™ camera management software, which allows users to view up to 32 cameras on a single computer from a central location. Motion detection triggers automated e-mail alerts to administrators, for up-to-the-minute information about unusual activities.

A micro SD/SDHC card slot is available for use as local camera side storage, as well as backup in the event of network outage.

The 20x Full HD WDR Speed Dome Network Camera (DCS-6915) is available from the end of November 2013.
