Position: Web Developer II

What: Sublime Media is looking for a web application developer to help build their online training courses and portals. They are an established learning and online media company in Seattle that has been providing instructor-led and online training, marketing media, and web applications to Fortune 500 companies for over 11 years. An informal, dynamic and looking for someone who is the right fit for Sublime’s company culture. They value ethics, honesty, the ability to work with others, and the ability to drive projects to completion with little outside management.

Sublime is a team of around 30 people mostly located in a large, dog-friendly loft office space. It’s not about when you arrive in the morning. It’s about what you get done and how you work with the team to make our parts greater than the sum of the whole.

Responsibilities: They’re looking for someone who is seeking a career working with a host of modern development technologies and can provide examples showing their effective use of these technologies to create high quality web applications. The ideal candidate has solid communication skills which will be needed since our developers interact directly across all departments. Familiarity with targeting a number of different browsers — including on Windows, Mac and mobile operating systems — is a must. In addition, the ideal candidate is organized, prioritizes well, thinks creatively, has a sense of humor and is extremely flexible.

This is a full-time contract position that may lead to a permanent place on the team.

Requirements:

• Modern front-end web technologies: HTML 5, CSS3 and jQuery (and JavaScript in general)

• The Microsoft web application technology stack: ASP.NET, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Entity Framework.

• SQL database experience, in particular Microsoft SQL Server.

• Strong software architecture skills including a working knowledge of modern design patterns and structures.

• Building and maintaining RESTful web services, particularly those being consumed by AJAX-enabled web applications.

• Microsoft Azure experience a definite bonus: Azure Websites, SQL Azure and Federated Identity Providers.

• Any knowledge of the SCORM and AICC standards.

Bonus Skills: Illustrator, Photoshop, training authorware programs such as Lectora Publisher or Articulate Storyline. Familiarity with PHP, Flash, Silverlight and mobile development is helpful.
