Software Development Manager, Kindle Fire Developer Tools
The Kindle Fire Developer Tools team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive software manager to own, define, and build developer tools for the Kindle Fire family of tablets. Candidates should understand software development for mobile devices as well as for developer tools, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be eager to take on new responsibilities, and have a track record of delivering high quality, easy to use products.
As the development manager for Kindle Fire Developer Tools, you will lead a talented and nimble team of engineers to enable developers to easily and quickly author high quality apps and content for Kindle Fire. Responsibilities include direct management of engineers, process and quality of software development and releases, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. The Kindle Fire developer business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
7+ years of relevant engineering experience
2+ years of relevant experience in designing, building and releasing developer tools
2+ years people management experience
Experience with object oriented languages and design

Deep hands-on technical expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business and technical vision
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements of underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
Development experience on mobile platforms such as Google Android, webOS, Windows Mobile, Apple iPhone and RIM Blackberry
