Job Description: Designs and develops electronic or electromechanical equipment or systems oriented products and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions, analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests, analyzes engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Responsible for prototype construction and checkout, complies operational data and prepares customer application information. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
## Qualifications
In this position, you will be joining a fast paced team of System Engineers responsible for defining and optimizing the complete wireless communication modem. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Technical leadership in the area of 2G/3G/LTE Multi-Mode Protocol Stack (PS), focusing on TD-SCDMA
Evaluate the impact of new features on the PS components and interfaces
Contribute to system and chip requirements for next generation modems
Definition of PS internal component architecture and interconnection of PS (sub-)components to meet the requirements of the system for multi-mode operation
Elaborate the related functional and interface specifications.
Provide technical guidance to the development teams during the design and verification phases
Support the analysis of complex system issues in cooperation with peers in the development organization
Technical interface to internal development groups and functional project management
Mentoring of team, giving guidance in design and system behavior, coaching of new employees
Monitor and support 3GPP UMTS/LTE related standards and standardization work
Qualifications
Required
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science
8+ years experience in the area of GSM/UMTS/LTE Protocol Stack development in the mobile cellular industry
Excellent knowledge in the following areas:
* UMTS/LTE 3GPP system architecture, protocol specifications and related procedures in control and data plane
* Mapping of requirements to architectural elements and related system design
* Knowledge of Finite State Machine modeling and related programming techniques (e.g. UML, SDL)
* Embedded C Programming skills for the 3G/4G protocol layers
