LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga -- Investigators looking into the shooting of a realtor in a model home Sunday have given up hope that Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill will talk to them.
Hill claimed in a 911 call to police that he accidentally shot Gwenevere McCord, 43, in the stomach.
Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter told 11Alive News the investigation into the shooting is moving forward without Hill's statement. Porter said he expects to decide on whether to charge Hill by the end of the week.
"I don't expect that he'll come in and give a statement to police," Porter said. "I've spoken to his attorneys today (Tuesday) and I don't anticipate they're going to bring him in for a statement."
The shooting happened late Sunday afternoon inside a subdivision model home on Britt Trail Drive. McCord is in critical condition at Gwinnett
