I consider myself a Peaceful Painter, with the Pacific Coast being my deepest inspiration.  Pacific means peace.  I began painting in High School with oils on canvas.  I have been educated in oils, watercolor, ink wash, charcoals, pastels, pen and ink, drawing, drafting, metal and woodwork, and art history with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Painting with acrylics and watercolor allows me the freedom to just let beauty come forth.  I get caught up in the way the paint moves across the canvas and  how the colors blend naturally.  My artwork is quiet, not intended to dominate a room but rather be like a soft whisper.  I use a pale color palette that brings calm to a space.  Most of us are in need of a dwelling place to rest and rejuvenate, to find sanctuary in.  My heart desires to cultivate peace in all that I paint.

The Heavenly Unseen

We look not to what is seen but to what is unseen;  for what is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal...

"We want something else which can hardly be put into words-

to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it,

to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it,

to become part of it."

~C.S. Lewis

"Her poetry, dancing upon the shores." ~W.B Yeats

There is so much to inspire me along the Northern California Pacific Coast.  I get lost in the layers of sand and sea...colors that I try to bring into all my artwork.

Monet's Sea
"the sea was so beautiful and it was so good to run along the cliff-tops in the fresh air and frolic in the sea." ~Claude Monet

"I want the unobtainable. Other artists paint a bridge, a house, a boat, and that's the end. They are finished. I want to paint the air which surrounds the bridge, the house, the boat, the beauty of the air in which these objects are located, and that is nothing short of impossible." ~Claude Monet

Claude Monet is my favorite artist.
